Evga gtx 460 ftw

Has anybody looked up or clicked the link for the ECS Black ? The mounted cooler is The Accelero Twin Turbo Pro . Another i was interested in is the MSI HAWK. Have heard very good things about it. And i do appreciate the suggestions, i did want a Palit so bad for its overclocking friendlyness... But noticed the coolers with sinks that reach the end of the card are the extra clockable ones the more often i would seen them release.
 
Hawk= epic, custom PCB 3-way voltage adjustment, v-check points, epic cooler

ECS black= stock 460 with Twin turbo pro
 
Well most 460's are stock just with different coolers and factory overclocked settings. Damn right the HAWK is epic, love the coolers on that and the ECS. Just need some user reviews on the ECS as most all review sites show different overclocking ability obviously as all chips are different . I would lean toward the ECS for its cooler to avoid having to install my own Twin Pro even though these cards run cool enough as it is.

Any other suggestions? I would just like my friends here to give some more valuable, useful input. Dont want to rush into it... well i am sorta since i want one so bad now, just want the right one that i will not regret. Seems alot of people are putting down the Palit while it got good reviews...
 
It's looking like the HAWK for now... One review site reached 878 on the core without any voltage adjustments... sick.
 
Ran across a forum last nite with quite a few users trash talking the HAWK. I cant say whether or not they actually own one , but sounds like it was really hyped up . I do know one user going by NC had to of them burn up on him just getting to 900 core... I've seen all the good i can about the HAWK. Now i wanna hear the bad side..

If YOU own a GTX 460 , which one ?
 
Dude just go on OCN. I doubt many people actually have 460s on here.
 
Dude, i do believe this is where the gentleman had two of them burn out on him. Possibly just a bad batch, bad experience? I need to order one of these guys NOW .

I want to see more actual USER reviews. Consumers who have bought them and loved em, or fried them. I've seen enough Site Reviews and would choose pretty much on which one would look best in my case, long as its not a 768mb stock . Most all got great reviews since most are great cards. Some recommend the cyclone, i do not like the design of it at all. Newegg only has 9 reviews, all being Good to Great. Nothing bad said. However 9 reviews is simply not enough.

Yo Phobus, what do you know about VRM sinks and installing them? I may very well be wrong, but with the Palit VRM review fiasco, i figured they are located at the front of the card where your power connectors are. On the HAWK, it looks like the heatsink is covering them, not contacting them though. Would it be possibly to sort of fill the gap so some of the VRM heat gets dissipated into the heatsink?

Yeah, it should be possible, if you find heatsinks small enough. I just wouldn't even bother with the HAWK. It's not binned = same quality as the other 460s, but $50 more.
 
Ok, so go ahead and explain to me how we know if the card is binned or not? By having a higher core clock ?

And i would much rather pickup a card and not have to deal with installing an aftermarket cooler. Just buy one with one. I think im thinking about this too hard.. too much thinking to think about.

Make this a bit easier, who knows which cards have the VRM's sinked, if any do.

Okay, higher binned GPUs are just all around better than normal binned GPUs. Think of CPUs. You know a Core i5 750, right? Those are normal binned. You know of the Xeon equivalent, the X3440? It's a server CPU, and is higher binned, meaning it has higher quality overall.

The FTW (a certain model) has VRM heatsinks, but like it's been said before, it's not higher binned, and the cooler sucks. Just buy some VRM heatsinks and add them to your GPU. They're like $10, tops.

The hawk is its own custom model. And it is most certainly binned higher than regular 460s
 
LOL MC has the Palit Dual fan stock 470 for $269... My heads ready to explode . I'll get the one with a good warranty so i can set it on fire.

Oh yea Phobus and Reflex, keep going i was really enjoying that.

Check this out... Would the 675 core card be able to clock higher in the end since its already so low? Or would it be the 800 mhz card which is already up there but with plenty of room as the manufacturer "binned" them .
