Before anyone says anything, this was posted here since it had to do with DoD:S in particular.

My questions is this:

How do you get two hand skins (one for Axis and one fore Allied) or is it possible? Is there something you need to name a folder?

Thanks,
PBJ

If anyone beats me to saying this ignore them completely.

My Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files > Valve > Steam > SteamApps > %yourusername% > Day Of Defeat Source > dod > materials > models > weapons > v_models > hands

the allied skins should be us_ and axis hand skins should be v_axis or something along the lines of that.

or if you meant how do you get the "Same" skin for both allies and axis than you will have to copy and paste it and rename one of them with v_axis_

Do you create a us_hands folder, or put us_v_hand as the file name?

the hands all go in the same folder. If youre trying to use the same skin for both allies and axis what skin is it? link us up. I can tell you what they need to be renamed too.

This is what you should have...
My Computer > Local Disk (C > Program Files > Valve/Steam > SteamApps > %yourusername% > Day of Defeat Source > dod > materials > models > weapons > v_models > hands

I have it that way, still US gloves show for both.

Try adding v_axis into the file name for the axis skins. like so...v_axis_hand.vtf other than that i guess you can try to make two folders in the hand skins one named axis and other allies.

Haha, I did that today...now Axis shows for both! What should I put in front of the US ones? v_allies?

Thought I would help you out. This is only possible if you recompile all the axis weapons to use a different HAND texture than the allied weapons. They already have separate sleeve textures, but they use the same hand textures. I released a weapons pack that had those gloves for allies and left bare hands for the axis if you want to check it out:

http://huck.thanez.net/DoD:S Upgrade/

That contains the pictures of included stuff. You can see from the pics that the allied weapons have a different hand texture than the axis ones. If you want, you can download and then simply replace the axis hand texture with the one you linked too. Hope this helps.
