Daft Punk Halloween Helmet Project

Hey guys, this Halloween I plan on making a Daft Punk helmet without spending a grand. So I'll take some normal everyday things and MacGuyver them together into a decent looking helmet.

I'll be making a replica of Thomas Bangalters LED visor helmet, as it seems this would be the cheapest and easiest to make.

I'll use.

• Generic Programmable LED Sign
• Probably a baseball helmet
• This paper version as a template for sturdier material for the mouthpiece. What that sturdier material is IDK, I'll take suggestions. http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=5f31918b5d7318337069484bded33bcdee851c20c3cd01fa
• Either chromed PVC or Aluminum for the ears.
• Strips of aluminum cut from soda cans for parts of the gloves.

This will be my first project like this, and I may need help along the way. Wish me luck!

Rukus you are indeed the most interesting person I've seen. Aren't you the one doing zombie lasertag or something? But relating to this subject, I presume a turtle shell would complete this. Yes, a metallic turtle shell. DO EET! DO EET NAOW!!

Oh and make an ironman mouth to go with the LED face(I think the visor should be smaller)

Good luck with your project. It will be cheaper. Considering the other Helmet is like 80% glass and has loads of lights and other stuff.

Zombie Airsoft, that plan is shelved until I can get permission from land owners or a way to get to the nearest field 5 hours away.

You could probably find some type of cheap rigid plastic at a craft store or something for the mouth.

UPDATE

Picked up a baseball helmet from goodwill for $2, cut the "ears" off, and sanded/primed it. Tomorrow I'll head out to a hobby shop for some plastic rigging. Possible pictures soon.

Damn, the LED part is going to be more difficult than I thought. I found several ways to do it, but I can't make heads or tails of them....I think I found something, could I use this? It appears out of stock. How do I find out the manufacturer?

Yeah, it would be perfect, but I need to know the manufacturer. Either that or pray they get more in in the next 3 weeks.
