yeah im down with their decision, but a warn would be nice, tho making him buy the game again was .... dumb
 
This isn't a bad thing:) It means you actually have to play the game a bit more than just press your macro keys and watch it do 65 things at once.

Even if its a joke i would still approve of blizz banning people using 3rd party equipment to play better it makes the game unfair for people trying to play fairly.

Your not understanding the point I see, either way the people are going to use keybinds Blizzard just wants people to buy their keyboards;)
 
You guys realize this was fake right? It got posted, and everyone on teamliquid figured it out. It's a pretty old post. The guy didn't have any evidence, and was before warden even got activated.

You will not be banned for a macro keyboard.

So you're saying I can set up a macro with 1 button click that does my entire first 2 starting minutes procedure. Making it 100% correct with 0 misstakes and not get banned? You know this can be done with a g15/11/19 keyboard. 1 button press.

You can not macro a whole starting build order into a key. That would require it to mimic mouse actions along with the macro. Macros are generally used for much smaller stuff, like pressing a combination of keys in WoW. In starcraft 2 it doesn't make that much of a impact. I have a g15, macros don't work like that, it records a few key presses but nothing like moving your screen around, placing buildings at the right times, etc. You can't time stuff out like that, or even do anything near that complex.

Anyways, no one will get banned, that guy wasn't banned (he couldn't have, no warden). And there isn't really any useful applications of macros for starcraft 2. Stop worrying about it.

Dont you have to use your mouse?!

Plus wouldnt the timing be weird, because not everyone can get a good spit.
Some ppl dont even spit at all!
And if you dont spit wouldnt your timing be mess for all your workers??!


Bit harsh on blizz side if it was fake or not imo!
Regular mouse n keyboard ftw !! :P!

Makes me a bit worried to use my G11 now. I don't macro for SC2 but still - if they can tell and would ban for it. ahhh - if i'm not macroing it wont happen

right.....
