does anybody know why donner has had so few people on it recently?
seems whenever I go on to play its empty or only has a few people playing on it?

Ya it quiet surprised me too.
Donner has been our superstar server. Always full.
Its easy to start it though. Last week it was empty so i went in there to play around with the zooka and within a few minutes it had 8 ppl on it. And in an hour a full server.
Ppl love donner we just need to start it for em.
Take some help frm fellow members e's eg's and ego's to get it started.
What i did was to go to a full server ask a few clan members to help start.

Blame the start of the fall semester of schools/colleges around the US.

I don't think that it is just the start of school is the reason the severs are down. I think that dod is becoming less popular, even though there are many new people on are servers everyday. Has any new game come out recently for steam? That may be the answer if its true.

School season, people dont have time new school work, and yes DOD:s is old but no new games have came out recently, also the weather has been quite good for most of the country and more people been outside, so if u see a empty server just sit in there call in a friend and help set it up

Don't know about donner.. But the day Avalanche is empty due to ANY reason other than it crashing (Which I must say recently happens often) is the day I'll curl up in a ball and sleep for days.

DOD:S is not becoming less popular its the same with CS and DOD 1.6 people still are crazy about old school so even though DOD:S is getting old doesn't mean its loosing its mojo. Like Kurdt pointed out above we just need to start it off.

WORD. I still play 1.3 and there is anywhere from 700 to 900 servers still up at times.

Completely Agree! I think school is a major cause.

Also the Time zones matter. Since 70% of the public members are from USA the servers are empty late at night (day for me) and i usually play with a lot of Europeans and Asians during this time.

i noticed that donner is empty also. ive been on it here and there.. and when i am.. it crashes or has these awful lag spikes that make my computer go nuts. but what do i know... its still my favorite server

Donner is still a great map. Why dont we set up a night where we all go into donner one night get it going have some fun.
