Do Kills Matter

I just wanted to ask this question here. Do you think kills matter in a game?

They matter because they allow you to take down towers easier and stop them from taking out yours. So yes, of course they matter, with the added benefit of gold and stopping them from gaining gold and experience for a time.

They matter because the help, like what Carmine said. But I also think that they shouldn't be what everyone focus's on. If you focus on killing the enemy team you could be losing opportunities to take out towers or other buildings. From what I have seen is people tend to get unorganized when they start to focus on trying to kill the other team.

I think a mix between getting some kills and taking towers is best. Seeing a person on your team with 30 kills and a few deaths is good but if he never helped push otherwise is there much point?

I think it depends on what game you're playing. Coming from the CS:S Division, some games you can focus on getting a high kill score (like in Deathmatch for example). Even so, I think it's more of a "focus on your skills" type of thing. It's not that hard to camp in a corner and kill everyone who walks in front of your awp scope. But those who can rush into the middle of a firefight armed with nothing but a silenced USP, and come out living... now that's skill.

In other games however, why worry about kills? Take CS:S Jailbreak for example. Does it really matter if you have a lot of kills? It either means you're gonna be targeted more as a Terrorist and killed for almost anything, or as a CT means you're prolly just a bit trigger happy.

That's just my opinion. :3 Have a nice day!

I agree with Vexx, since I only play Jail in CS:S I think that it doesn't matter if you have a lot of kills or not...its just a game..enjoy it xD

Clearly we're referring to League of Legends, since this is the league of legends forum, not jail....

I know. He just said "in a game", not being specific. So I answered from my division and game I'm used to. :3 I'm sure my answer would coorelate though, kills don't matter, so long as you have fun!

You still don't get it

If he had not wanted to be specific why would he post in the games specific forum? Sorry but your answer does not correlate in the least bit.

yea this type of thinking is why I made this thread even though you have no idea the kind of game LoL is. Coming from a FPS ppl might think kills dont matter in LoL as much as towers. But Ive been trying to explain what Carmine is saying for awhile to various new ppl. no offense.

If you are winning early game and and have taken 3 or 4 towers more and then they start getting more kills that allows them to catch up in gold(which they use to get a better build) because the more enemy kills you get the more or a gold bonus you get for example if I kill someone of a killstreak I can get up to a 1000 gold just by doing that.So if everyone on my team starts catching up and getting fed. We will win if that trend continues. Because we will be able to just run over your team in fight or while your trying to defend every time

they matter in the way carmine said. giving you the ability to snowball with gold/xp over the gold/xp they will lose in the time they're away, as well as the opportunity to push a lane, however they do not matter where you can win a game with 0 kills technically.

KDR doesn't matter IMO, but deaths do. specifically the manor of death. i hate feeders...that doesn't mean somebody with a high amount of deaths, but that does mean somebody with stupid deaths like pushing a lane solo while everybody else is mia. or trying to dragon/baron when all are mia and such. there are many other examples but i think you get the point, just pointless deaths that could have easily been avoided with a bit of common sense.

You have to see what type of character you are. If you are a hard core nuke like ryze, essentially yes, but if you are a less hitting champ such as sona(support in my opinion) then no.

Feeding matters, breaks the team.

Killing sprees make you level fast and your team level fast with assists, make a team.

Kills dont matter in terms of individuals, they matter in terms of team kills. Not only that, you need to count in MINION kills and tower kills. Overall usually the team with the greatest gold/member is the winner. Either you have one super fed carry, or a bunch of solid players. Either way it does matter.

All of this is assuming that players know how to play/build their champ. If your playing DPS soraka, you already lost in any worthwhile competitive environment.
