.Haha I wouldnt recommand watching that much replay of high level players.
They pull of crazy stun you wont able to do.
But is good to watch the "SC2 GUIDE" from their channel above!!
Here what I can give you:
Play Campagin if you havent. (Just a few levels dont really have to beat the game, just to get the feel of their game and the UI)
Start off with either of 3 races against AI or practice league.
Pick 1 of them you really like or feel comfortable playing with.
From there research on the build orders and the units of the race. (F12 key)
*Build orders are super important IMO* -
(note that this is a RTS you build on what your play against, you dont have to play by the book!)
Learn their regular builds, then get to start some cheesy builds, and so on etc...
Later on once you get better and more experince you will start to learn the other 2 races as you will be playing alot against them.
You will also learn what builds counter what etcetc...
From there watch videos, replays, play 2s 3s 4s!!
And try out custom maps of course.. some really help with microing units!
Just my 0.02!
Day[9] does complete analysis of game play and teaches you how to play, it isn't about watching high level games. Even if you don't understand whats happening, he explains it. There is even Noobie Tuesdays that focus on even more basics. Plus, he's hilarious.Haha I wouldnt recommand watching that much replay of high level players.

Builds dont matter. Honestly start out by always making workers and never getting supply blocked. Everything else will come with time.
You make pylon at 10/10. Wait for pylon to finsih build probe.
Continue at 11/18
You make pylon at 9/10. Make your 10/10 probe.
You pylon finish right after your 10/10 probe.
Continue at 11/18
Let see which can be faster.
My build are always different after 10 supplies..note that this is a RTS you build on what your play against, you dont have to play by the book!)
When your in the bronze bracket, learning how to keep up the basic macro mechanics will help you get the general idea of when you have the stuff. Of course, you look at a build order just to get a rough estimate, but that's not the point. In 1v1 early pushes aren't as effective as in 2v2 and 3v3, 2v2 and 3v3 are jokes because of how unbalanced it is. It's nothing like 1v1, which the game was balanced around.Well I dont play much 1 v 1 so I have nothing to say.. about that bracket.
I'm not a goood starcraft players nor do I call myself decent.
But comming from diamond 2s and 3s...
If you donno how to start your match right...........gameover for you..
Early push from 2~3 players and you have to hope that your teammate can 1 vs 2 them..
Learn how to get your units out in time comes from a good build order..
Just saying build workers and not get supply block is good tips,
but how do a new players know when to start building their pool?rax?gateway?
I have a frd who actually started sc2 as terrain...
He plays by what you said " Build worker, dont get supply block" ..
Sure enough.. he just get out run by early push...
Gave him a video for a basic MMM build order..
And the next time I played him.. not only did he know basic MMM unit combo, but he knows how to use reaper to harass effectively
All depend on a BASIC build order, sure if you read my bracket quote :
My build are always different after 10 supplies..
You will hardly get to stay in one build order at all.
So learn how to adapt your build order according to how your enemies play.
I agree with you Arnu.
Sure low lever game doesnt matter about build orders.
if you learn the basic of how to time your builds and such.. you be better than your opponent already!!!!
Learning how to change your build order to adapt to the enemy units/plays is a good way to learn.
Is an RTS game afterall, theres no rules on how to be good. IF your good with your style, sure stick with it.
I'm sure most people have a build order of their own.
In 1v1 early pushes aren't as effective as in 2v2 and 3v3,
Pull drones, and build a few zerglings to hold it off, then he's screwed. 6 Pool is really easy to defend.I would say no for ZvZ, a early 6 pool can easily be a game winner b/c zergs got no real ways to wall off. Even if they go spine most likely you wont have enough time to even get anything out before the rush hits.
