Yeah, I stole the thread name. You wanna fight about it?

I want scout tips. It's a class I never play, but lately I've been trying it and finding it really rewarding when I can do it well. And I know that a good scout can be soooooo frustrating for an enemy team.

So far, what I've learned is this (and this may or may not be right, or may be situational, so you pro scouts, feel free to correct or append this):

1.) Attacking from the front is suicide, if you see an enemy, immediately try to come at him from an angle he won't see or expect.

2.) The force of nature is fun but kinda bad compared to the regular scattergun.

3.) Have good aim.

4.) ???

5.) Profit!

You wanna talk to Super88 , best scout I know, but im decent, heres my tips:

DOnt use anything (other than sandman) you unlock, there all useless, lame, and Frowned appon.

If your fighting a soldier, you will either always win, or never win. TO win, gain your heigh advantage, hold it, keep jumping, hit him with pistol shots.

My favorite technique (one that requires Practice) is Weapon Juggling (others may call it differently). If you meet a pyro persay, you wanna back up, pistol him (as they usually have their flamethrower out) and when he switches to his Flaregun/Shotgun, move in with the bat, hit once, then he will either switch back to flame thrower (Repeat Pistol part) or go Axe. As soon as you see that axe come out, rush him with the scatter gun, hes ssoooooooo Done now ;)

THere are many techniques, just keep on the move, aim well, dont use the unlocks (cept the sandman, which is 50/50) and have fun messing with people :D

1) Depends on which class it is. Heavy? Yes. Pyro? Not so much. You can taunt her just out of range of the flamethrower and still do great damage with the scattergun.

2) Basically. If you're really good at sneaking and getting ninja kills, the FaN is pretty useful. If you want to be good in a straight up firefight, the scattergun is almost necessary.

3) Meh. I've seen some good pub scouts that stay on the ground and don't really move the mouse. Just run back and forth and time the shot with when the crosshair will line up.

4) !!!

5) Doubtful.

I'm not really a good scout because my computer can't handle that fast movement, but really it's a pretty straightforward class. Lern 2 dodge is basically it.

1. Work in a group with 1 other scout. Really, if you and you're scout partner are coordinated well enough you can clear out an entire server.

2. Movement. Constant movement. You should almost make yourself dizzy from movement and strafing.

3. Avoid sentrys/natashas (highest priority, encounter against one of these puts you at a severe disadvantage.)

4. Flanking. This goes for every class, but scout especially. Flank the enemy.

5. Jumping. Wear out your spacebar/jump button until it no longer functions.

Some basic stuff, but you'd be surprised how many people don't use these simple steps.

6. Play spamoman and win every game.

Sorry for no TF2 spamoman, this is all i got.

In pubs I recommend you jump a lot, the reason you often don't see scouts jumping all over the place in 6v6 is because most of the soldiers and demomen are good enough to juggle you, so a mistimed jump can easily end you.

^that, its so great when you get like Crits of 45X12=540, nuff to take down a heavy if you land just over half the shots.

1) jump around
2) run like crazy
3) flichshot (that means shake your mouse like an aimbotter :P [IT WORKS])
4) ^^^^For scatter gun

FAN
1) Jump>bounce with FAN to get higher (and try to hit an enemy)> jump again> shoot enemy again
2) Run is not so much important better stick in the air
3) Flichshooting isnt needed here
4) Kill 'em all!

How exactly does that flickshotting (if I spelled that right) help improve your scout play/aim? Gotta say that's the most interesting and unique thing I've heard in this thread thus far.

id say be erratic, know your environment, confuse the enemy, attack the weak, confuse the strong, attack from the back and if you can jump over them if they turn around and bam another back attack...idk im not good at explaining my style i almost considering them like the assassins that arent spies
