Anyone a big fan of warpath?

I actually love this map, i usually like maps with high tech themes in them, but this one I liked even if its a stupid old canyon, I loved this a lot cause of that little building where you could destroy its walls...

Fun fact of the day, This is the only other map where the rare ENGLISH buga can be found, outside of her natural blackmesa habitat.

Lol Noise this is true, Warpath was my first love and is what brought me to ego over 2 and half years ago now. I love the map, its a hard slog with the choke points but I still enjoy it after all this time. Its a huge shame that I have to go to other servers in order to play it. Cos the language and bad behaviour sucks big time. However TF2 division isnt what it used to be and part of the problem of failing servers is the lack of input from leadership and the amount of people we lost to other games. Coupled with that, it doesnt help when the server is down multiple times at prime time.. players wanting their tf2 fix have no choice but to go to other servers. I know there was a couple of weeks where we could hardly play on eGO servers and we lost a lot of people because of that.. Its not the only problems, but it sure doesnt help.

Most people that dont like Warpath, don't like it cos they have to work hard to get ahead and they care too much about their ranking

Theres not too many warpath servers out there, but if you can ignore the idots and the bad language you can still have a good game !

If anyone wants to do a trip to warpath hit me and masterpiece up.. we love to have a game there and we generally play tf2 every day.

Warpath....

Ah those were good times. There was such a feeling of accomplishment when you had your back against the wall but were still able to push the enemy from the arch all the way back to the bridge. Or when you could pull off the 5 minute win. I recall that map needing the most teamwork to really make it work. Wave after wave aftwer wave of uber'ed pairs followed by the Engies taking the point.

All this walking down memory lane, I might just fire back up TF2. sniff... good times

Hows tonight work for you? Id love to play with community members, I know a few good warpath servers we can go to, language does not bother me but you may have an issue with some of these servers.

I was WP regular back in the days when I frequented more than just the ego forums and stopped into valve maps every now and then. Engi update has ruined it (WP) for me...
well at least the servers I've played on and cant goof off without fear of being kicked

It was doing great, but it was replaced by a pipeline server when that map came out, effectively destroying the community built around warpath. Too late to bring it back outside of events. Big mistake.

Actually. The warpath community was already broken by that time. A small group of the regulars had already had a bit of a falling out with TF2 leadership over something minor and were no longer frequenting the server. While I don't have access to the traffic numbers anymore, it stayed full for a shorter time than the rest of our servers and attracted fewer players overall. In short, while it was still wildly popular amongst a very vocal minority, the overall interest in the server had waned and it had become our poorest performing server. Tiddy did create a thread in this forum a month before it was pulled, giving the community a fair warning ahead of time. But, it just didn't have the following behind it anymore.

So, as was -- and still is -- our custom here when a new map is released, the poorest performing server was converted to run the new maps. It wasn't a mistake so much as it was a carefully calculated decision.

I'd say that it was second only to Dustbowl in the teamwork factor. If your team didn't make a coordinated push through the choke points with ubers and ordinance classes, chances were slim that you'd be able to push to the next point. That said, I think the biggest complaint I would hear also had to do with the fact that it "spam city" at those choke points. I really enjoyed the map and spent a good bit of time there myself. Just ask Sandman sometime about the epic duels we would have on that server. I seemed to develop a 6th sense for when he was about to back stab me on that server.

In the end, though, it was just another map that had run its time here. Somebody PM Kevi and TC and ask for them to hold a Warpath event!
