Intel Core 2 quad vs AMD Phenom

AMD has come up with Phenom which is a Quad Core Processor to go up against Intel's Core 2 Quad. How does Phenom stand up against the current heavy weight champion?

Well from the early specs of the Phenom are 3 Levels of cache, 2.2 or 2.4 ghz (maybe more), you supposedly can still use AM2 boards with it and from what I can tell the only better thing about the Phenom is its name and 3 levels of cache.
Maybe some benchmarking from tomshardware will prove otherwise.
