Gomezzz's BUILD!

Motherboard: http://bit.ly/d7V1OD
Monitor: N/A
Mouse: N/A
Keyboard: http://bit.ly/d83n0V
Graphics Card: http://bit.ly/9sIZzs (wouldn't normally go with Geforce, but this one looks good)
Processor (CPU): http://bit.ly/a2B5tg
RAM (Memory) http://bit.ly/7UBlO6
Hard-Drive http://bit.ly/bzC4O4
Optical Drive: http://bit.ly/a7hI5o
Case: http://bit.ly/do45EW
Power Supply Unit: http://bit.ly/OTZt
Sound Card: N/A (Not needed)
Network Card: N/A (Not needed)

Grand Total: $1,092.91

I know It's a 100 bucks over the limit, but i dont wanna take out any part, It'll mess up the build. If you have a spare cd player, then you dont need the blu ray player.

That hexa core is overkill for the 'gaming only' rig he requested. Yeah sure, it has a big 'POW!' factor but it doesn't perform all that better then a quad or even a dualcore ingame. The GTX 460 has pretty poor performance with the only upside being DX11, being small and using low power. (I have this card and not happy with it.)

Fine, be that way. :(

Changing it naooo.

EDIT:

Just changed the CPU, the GTX 460 is an awesome card, what are you talking about? Maybe you were right about the CPU, also, dont tell me the quad isnt good!! I have that and It's a beast! You have the 460, right?

Just because you're not happy, doesnt mean that it's a horrible card...

Look at other peoples opinions.

I'm just giving my opinion ;) I'm just trying to help.

The GTX has good bang for buck but it doesn't fit my needs. (That is playing all games on max, 2AA) And it just doesn't handle some games.

He specifically told 'Gaming only' he never mentioned multi-tasking. And seeing most games don't even support (In a decent way) 4 cores. A dual core will do fine. But I'd stay with a quad core to give some room. I couldn't live without my i7 as I am a serious multi-tasker.

Good build other then that ;)

I prefer quads, besides, AMD's are cheaper, so It's fine.

It's got, pretty much the same performance as a more expensive one and it's cheaper ^_^

But intel performs better, just throwing that in ;)

The benchmarks for the 460 aren't agreeing with what your saying. Did you get the 1gb version, also what model? I haven't heard anyone complain about the performance of a 460. Most people hit 900 on it easy, and get great performance.

Also, Bole, Phobus already has a build thread with a ton of posts, not sure if we need two threads since people can just go to that one.

Oh right, well that thread hasn't been active for a while.

I got the 736mb version. Which is good enough for 1920x1080. But I'm thinking 'bout running 2 of those in SLi. That'll get my face smiling :D

I see my name has been mentioned in here.

Why didn't you get the 1GiB version? The 768MiB is for low resolution, and 1920x1080 is not low resolution.

Because I got a really good deal on the 768MB version and the difference between 1Gb and 768 Mb at a reso of 1920x1200 (Higher res then mine) is about 5-7fps which is ignorable.

and 768mb is plenty. My old 9800 GTX+ could handle games with 512MB at this res. So why wouldn't 768mb ?
