Tony covered it well, but I always feel like my opinion is valid no matter what so here is my 3 cents (yes 2 because Sumac= +1).
From a sticky in the DoD forums,
1) MAUL verification (you have no idea how many potentials aren't verified)
2) Server Activity
3) MAUL history (demotions, Leadership notes)
4) Application date (as opposed to forum join date)
5) Forum Activity (2 posts in application thread = not active member)
6) Last visit to forum (Over a few weeks, and it's useless to promote)
7) In game name (Must match forum ID, no house tags, no inappropriate changes)
8) Vent Activity. (If you're never in Ventrilo, we do notice)
Tony touched on all these points, the main ones being server/vent/forum activity. Within that, simply getting to know other members of eGO and the division.
You have to consider there are so many members that Advisers/DLs won't notice you unless you are hanging out with others within the division. Also, vent/forums are a great place to lean about how different admins handle situations.
Lastly and Tony covered this as well, just play to play. eGO doesn't have packs of admins roaming the servers looking for problem children. We have gamers who play and enjoy their time playing and simply help keep servers fun and enjoyable for themselves and others when they are on.
