Serious question... Bad language in the servers.

Can someone please straighten some stuff out. Besides the obvious words that you shouldnt use in eGO servers... what else can not be said. I have found in the past couple days that some people tell me some words are bad and others say some are no problem. Just wanna be educated in this so I dont get kicked or banned. Thanks.

There's not really a list of ok words/bad words although some are obvious

As a guide, ?If you could say it in front of your priest or grandmother, then it?s probably OK to let it slide.?

If you go to our Personnel Service Center there's a thread titled Start Here - New Applicants that lists rules and basic procedures.

Scroll down that thread to the area titled "Becoming an =(e)=?". The rules are listed as follows:

Please READ and FOLLOW the following server rules-of-conduct.

EdgeGamers? Server and Forum Code of Conduct (Public Rules):

1. No foul, degrading, or racist remarks.
2. No inappropriate or disrespectful sprays or names.
* All sprays and avatar icons used on eGO servers should be PG-13 rated. No nudity is allowed. Final decisions on what is acceptable are left up to the admins in the server.
3. No cheating, cheat scripts, barrier jumping, map exploits or hacks of any kind.
4. No griefing.
5. No F10 or Alt-F4 jokes.
6. No advertising in servers.
7. No names or sprays that advocate or oppose a political figure, political stance, religion or nation.
8. No website URLs in names, sprays or avatars.
9. No impersonating admins.
10. No arguing with admins.
11. Do not disrupt the server in any way.
12. Do not pester admins.
13. Admins have final say in server.

And just a personal addition, since I've seen several people ask in server; generally, talk of bodily functions is considered foul unless you're discussing TFs jarate or something similar that involves game-play.

Ezekiel's quote and Ozone's quote from the Application thread are both good guidelines.

Essentially, if you are asking yourself if you should be able to say it or not, you probably shouldn't. If it's one that's not blatantly obvious, you can ask online admins by typing @is it okay to say this word? <insert word here> in team chat.

Any sort of discrimination, including racism, sexism, and ageism are not permitted. Calling somebody a noob is nor permitted. Drug and sexual references are not permitted. Swearing in other languages (generally, servers are english-only anyway) is not permitted. If you have some specific words you want to know about, shoot me a private message and I can clarify for you.

Somthing else to consider: Just because someone else is using a word liberally (and arent being repremanded) doesnt mean its OK to say. use your best judgement and dont follow a bad example.

Also, If you really, really have to exclaim somthing inappropriate (or rage for a minute), you dont have to type it or push the talk button......

A part of being mature is being respectful to others and being able to control what you say
