Left 4 Dead 2 Crashing

I a lil confused i am able to play LFD 1 but i just got LFD2 and it loads the game and when its about to start it crashes and i have everything in low settings. Does anyone know of a fix for this i have tried looking online but no luck

I went to steam support, they gave a generic solution which probably doesn't work (no surprise there)

I had the same issue. I simply went to C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/accountname/common/left 4 dead 2
I then set it to run the exe in compatibility mode for XP SP3. Ran it like that for 3 or 4 days and just changed it back to run normally today. Works just fine for me now.

yeah i figured out it doesn't matter lol and i tryed that and yet its still crashing idk maybe its just my lap top.

updated them already it didn't help its just my lap top oh well im building a new compute anyways.

If you want an answer, please supply us with the crash information.
On the crash window screen, depending on a crash, it should has a button that says "More Details" or something close to it.

If you still care and want an answer, please supply all the information under "More Details".

I was having a similar problem...just don't play L4D2?

You could try typing "-novid" in advanced user options, this sometimes work for HL2 crashes.

make sure the video drivers you grabbed are from your laptop manufacturer's site. For example, if you have a dell laptop, get video drivers on dell's support site, not nvidia/ati's site.
