but I was watching the MoH videos on their website http://www.medalofhonor.com/community?sourceid=eag2872 and the game looks prettymuch amazing :D Despite the obvious similarities to BC2 which is understandable since it's more or less the same developers, I was blown away by what it seems to have.

Then again, could have just been marketing doing their job.

Your thoughts? Especially from those who actually own the game (NOT the Beta) ?

Then again, could have just been marketing doing their job.

This... Previews/Trailers are to attract people to buy the game, so their going to make it look awesome. I'm not saying the game is not awesome, it probably is, but was just saying.

I've been playing it off and on today and I'm loving the multiplayer except for the couple of aimbotters I ran into. MOH's version of rush is simply awesome, the maps are great and not as choked as the beta. Explosives don't have a huge blast radius so noob tubers aren't as big of a problem(IMO). The one big problem I'm having right now is getting 1P mode to even work, currently reinstalling hoping it'll work right after that's done.

It is the typical marketing video trick. Make it look really good so people buy it, then 3/4 of people don't like it...Lol.

I can't say from experience as I have no intention on purchasing it, but I've been quizzing up all of my friends about it.

I've heard the single player is far too easy (almost all of my friends swapped it to the hardest difficulty immediately and still breezed through it), had a really bad ending, and was overall "boring".

As far as multiplayer goes I've heard that it's fairly good. Hit boxes are nice and weapon mechanics work well. Based on what I've seen and heard, maps are run-of-the-mill and there's some debate over some finer points of the game.

Personally, I'd wait for the price to come down.

I saw the videos. At first, It looked awesome. Then I played it. Horrible.

Nothing like the videos you see. It's a trap!

I Beta tested it, Closed and Opened, it just has too many hackers for my taste. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault was the game that got me into online pc gaming, this was a real bummer for me.

Thanks for the input, I'm just trying to see from people who actually play the real game how good it is regardless of what may have been wrong w. the Beta unless it's an issue that has carried over.

Thanks all ;)

Any news on BF3?

COMING SOON

@ethereal

Ok I got the game... I won't lie to you... Is NOT BC2... and is NOT MW2

The SP is great!!! People keeps complaining about it, without any reason, it's really good, cause is not a movie (like MW2), it's just how the Tier1 guys are doing everyday and how is to be part of them.

The MP is another thing... If you like to rush like maniac, be one man army and kill everybody in the way, think twice maybe this is not your game, this is more about TEAM PLAY, and I'm not talking about all rush etc. is about tactical positions, aka watching your friends butt and doing covering fire, while your guys are moving (and yeah like every single FPS there's tons of snipers). The game modes are pretty quick (I like this), you can do a match in like 5 minutes which is very good (all depends in which mode are you using). So if you ask me, is this game better than BC2? I can't tell you that, because is not similar, and if you are arguing about the 60$ think twice in steam MW2 still 60$

It's like the more I play it, the more I like it :thumbup1: I won't quit BC2 for this game... hell no, I'm still waiting for Vietnam!!! :thumbup1:

And a final through about this game... You need to be a Ninja!!

Here's my .02:

SP: Uh, whatever. I'm not really into SP, it's not a problem of the game I just prefer SP games with big wide open maps and a lot of freedom(think GTA and JC2). I'm slowly working my way through it but my gaming time is limited these days and I'd rather play MP.

MP: There's good and bad for sure but IMO the good far outweighs the bad.

First the bad:

-Crash to Desktop, that's my biggest complaint. Apparently it's a known issue w/ x64 systems and the recommendation of playing windowed doesn't help at all. Happens about 25% of the time post match when there's a map change.

-Snipers, they're out there, get over it.

-Choke points when on offense in a combat mission. Every combat mission has at least one, usually two choke points where 3 to 4 OPFOR snipers can really lock down the maps especially if the attacking team can't seem to work together.

-Offensive and defensive actions kinda suck IMO, I don't think the game needs them and they seem kind of gimmicky, especially the UAV in HC.

-Aimbotters suck, so far I've found 2 in the Beta and 2 in the real game, with no revive you can't medic grief(kill, revive, repeat) them when their on your own team so the only real option regardless of team is to find a new server, not a big deal IMO.

-Handguns, no power and hard as hell to kill with. Maybe that's why I don't like sniping.

-Predator view, so to speak. There's a couple places I've found on a couple maps where I can see the other team through obstacles. It's not like in BC2 where if you get close enough to a tree it disappears and you can surprise people, instead the obstacle never goes away but instead you can see these weird outlines of everyone on the other side. If you're not sure what I'm talking about I'll try and catch it with Fraps later.

Now the good:

-Sniping. I haven't even used the sniper kit since beta, I didn't really like it much and I think it's harder than in BC2, also there's no point where you can snipe from impossible distances like you can in Arica Harbor(I'm certainly guilty of that) and I think that's good because it give opponents a fighting chance.

-Small maps rock, lots of action in the small maps and random spawns can help to buy you at least a few seconds to get your bearings.

-Quick respawn, needs no explaination.

-Hit boxes are very nice and need no extra work.

-Shotty slugs don't work across the map, accurately anyway. I feel like 20 to 30 yards is about all they're good for.(those that have played BC2 w/ me a lot know that for me this is both a plus and a minus)

-Explosives are not near as powerful as they are in BC2. That means if you want to play as a noob tuber you've got to be accurate, and that's a really good thing.

-Teamwork is essential on offense in combat missions and that's the best thing of all. Good teamwork amongst lousy players will beat out lone wolfing it no matter how good. Thank fast respawning for that.

-The knife works!

That's all I've got for now. Overall I'm loving it. Now I've gotta go change a baby's diaper.

Any news on BF3?
this is probably one of the best info you'll get at this stage- "The beta will open within a year of Medal of Honor shipping. More information to come." This is from DICE (www.dice.se)btw. (SRRY for not posting anything about the question, i dont have the game but did play BETA and i dont like it :(, buts thats out of he question anyway).

Alright, thanks very much P3N and forty really appreciate it. I may yet buy the game... hahah looking for something new to play when BC2 gets a bit too repetitive

In my opinion, the Single Player is GOOD, but can be poor at times. It can have those "battlefield" moments, just not as battlfieldish lol, and you get to fly an Apache. So yeah. Now, to the Multiplayer. This part of the game is made by DICE/Frostbite, whereas the single player is made by Danger Close and DICE. I personally think the Multiplayer is very good. Though there are few weapons and maps (more maps coming), it's very fun. But, if you like sniping, I personally think this game isn't as good for it, it's more of an attacking game.
Just mah opinion! :D

Update:

Crash to desktop seems to be fixed since the patch, haven't crashed again yet anyway.

What I meant by predator view-

Look for the guy through the berm.

Started using sniper kit, I really like the battle rifles for mid to close combat, can't get into the bolt action, maps are just too small for it IMO. Sucks that there doesn't seem to be any bullet drop, best thing about the BC2 sniper kit by far. Looking forward to unlocking the G3 to see if I like it as much as I do in BC2.

No drop on RPG or AT4, again I'm a little disappointed in the missed opportunity to carry over a BC2 trait that Dice really got right.

OPFOR can't steal armor. Don't really care, just interesting to note. Also, armor seems hold up better than in BC2 but isn't as useful in capping objectives(IMO).

Lastly, my new big complaint. I love the small maps, but I found a problem. Since there's lots of doors and small spaces to run through one person stuck in a door due to camping or opponent holding down the other side meaning no one else can get by. I've seen a lot of bickering in chat about tk's due to blocking and been tk'd myself a number of times(knife, not accidental). Not a really big deal but it is the only thing getting me close to rage the last couple days.
