It's official. Valve is making DotA 2.

:/ meh, they should have made a really awesome version of Wintermaul. That was a much better and more popular warcraft3 game.

Valve see's LoL and HoN they are like.... $$$

Ugh. Do we really need 3 versions of the same thing :< Although this one seems like it will be the best. Valves artists are insane, those character posters are awesome.

4, actually.
Game -- response

WCIII: DotA -- It's awesome!
League of Legends -- It's like super DotA!
Heroes of Newerth -- It's like DotA, except it's standalone, and has a bunch of out of game features.
This -- I don't know, can't get the article to work.

It better be an exact DOTA Clone with updated graphics new heroes... if not ill finally buy HoN which is and exact clone with some differences in heroes

EDIT: Thank god denying has be given the green light.

It's supposed to be an exact clone, with new features. I'll probably get it.

I wish Valve would stop picking up other games/working on other projects, and get episode 3 out already. It's been long enough!

I would bash Valve for not talking about Ep 3. Or joke about it being another LoL/HoN competitor. But it sounds good, and I picked up LoL recently so I can definitely see the draw.

Well. Valve is still working on Episode 3. Valve splits up their workers into sections. Episode 3 people work on Episode 3. L4D People work on L4D. Etc.

Slight problem with this Dota 2 thing. There is a four way lawsuit over the name between Blizzard Entertainment (Warcraft III's Dota), S2Games(Owner of Defense of the Ancients - the original game before Warcraft III), RiotGames (Creator of WC3 Dota and LoL), and Valve (Publisher and Developer of Dota 2- I hate you Valve!!!).

The reason being, RiotGames believes they own the name of DOTA for the owner created the original Dota on Warcraft III, however he used it using Blizzard Entertainment's software, making Blizzard think they own the rights to the name. S2Games is fighting because they legally own the full name "Defense of the Ancients". VALVe is in there because they are naming the game "DOTA 2" and the other guys are like "WTF thats our name!"

[Just to help you get filled in, I'm pretty sure VALVe hired a man named Icefrog who is one of the original creators of Defense of the Ancients)

One way or another, those pricks at VALVe are going to make a DOTA like game and probably ruin it just because they are money hungry.
