Well, on one hand, attempting to scam someone for a hat is unethical, and usually is pretty obvious to catch (not many people *generous* enough to lose their rare or paid for items in order to help others out).
On the other hand, is someone actually accepts a hat scam, they kinda deserve what they get.

On the balance of the whole, I think it should be a pre-emptive w/k/b because we want to keep our servers clean, and hat scammers will give us a bad reputation. I say pre-emptive because if they are advertising "free naming/coloring hats" or "free hats if you visit xxx" you can be pretty sure they are going directly against the spirit of eGO.

I was in a server the other day that had several spammers or bots log in advertise hat trading companies and then leave. I hope this isn't going to become a problem like what you see in WoW.
This is what happens when you add money to a game. I'm afraid the days of free TF2 are over.

eGO has a vise-versa policy which does NOT allow advertisement on our servers. (This means posting links to other clans and such stuff.)

I say we kick/ban anyone trying to scam people on our servers via sending them unwanted links.
Just NOT acceptable & should not be tolerated.
& it hurts our pubs :/

I have a feeling it's going to end like WoW. Them adding people, and coming into servers advertising.

If there's money to be made on PC games, and there are ways to farm them and sell them, they will do it.
