What kind of phone do you have?

I'd much rather have a faster phone, even if I manage to break it/have to RMA. At least when it would work, it wouldn't annoy the crap out of me. >.<
I've thought about overclocking my phone. Does anyone know how to OC on Android? lol

You have to have it rooted. It's fairly easy but completely voids any and every warranty. Just Google on how to root your particular phone and it should seem pretty easy. If you have HTC however, you will lose the Sense UI which IMO isn't worth it.

Edit: Sorry Pew beat me to it. Also, SetCPU is available through the Market, but it's not the only one out there.

All four of the major carriers currently have a Galaxy S phone, stick with Sprint and you get a slide out hard keyboard and 4G, it's called the Epic.

I think he was talking about the apps pew mentioned not the phone lol.

Phobus, yes it does annoy the hell outta me. Just not used to my phone having an actual OS. By eliminating running backround programs which i was unaware of, it certainly has sped things up. Plus it has the newest firmware and from what i hear the older version is quicker, though does not support flash and wont be able to watch youtube videos. Like i do on my phone anyway... leave that to my desktop.

This is mine, traded my HTC hero in for a HTC evo, then heard this thing coming out so returned it and got me a samsung epic. And yes the first thing I did was change that awful background that's in this pic.

Sense UI is poop. It's too resource heavy for the phone.

That's a nice lookin' phone. I really like the UI.
How crisp is the picture? MP != IQ.
How well are the videos?

Don't be afraid of rooting. If you ever need a replacement you can unroot and they'll never know. I've had to get a rooted Droid replaced under warranty. Twice. No problems.

Yeah I've had friends who rooted their droid return it. You can always go back to stock anytime you want.

The Xperia X10 isn't a good phone. Sure it has a ton of MP for a phone but overall its a sluggish phone.........and its only on android 1.6. They are planning to update to android 2.1 but that hasn't happened yet and everyone is already moving onto android 2.2 froyo. The Nexus One has even gone past 2.2 from what i've heard according to a recent update but its nothing major.

Galaxy S phones have the fastest components so far and still do.......G2 is a great phone and a great addition to vanilla android, its still behind the Galaxy S though. I like the style, keyboard and build quality tho, really nice but nowhere near as thin as the Galaxy S or iPhone 4 because of keyboard of course.

You can get SetCPU for free from online, it cost money in the market but theres a thread on XDA forums somewhere and you can just download it for free. You must be rooted though.
