not too much to say besides i cant windows xp to boot up.. it stops loading on the first splash screen than goes black and nothing..

There's so many things that could be going wrong.

I'd say first disconnect all external devices (USB Ps2 etc) including mice and keyboards and see if that fixes the problem

if not, try connecting via safe mode (press and hold f8 key)
If this works you know your computer isn't falty (if it doesn't you should try booting with a single stick of ram and changing it out etc)

does your computer shut down after it goes blank?

If you can get into safe mode run some antiviruses (Spy bot S&D, Microsoft essentials, avast, malewarebytes) etc. [i'd personally reccomend malewarebytes]

let me know if you have any questions/can clarify somemore.

Try booting into safe mode. To do this, when you start your computer keep pressing F8 until the Windows boot selection menu pops up.

Select "Safe Mode". Pay attention to what is on the screen and if it locks up, crashes, or throws an error come back and let us know what the last thing on the screen was.

This sounds like a classic driver issue... sounds like it's hanging on one.

Like Evan ( CrazyKiller ) said, try booting in safe mode. If that doesn't work, find your windows CD, and go into the repair mode and type in the command prompt "sfc /scannow"

This will completely repair your install, without reformatting.

yeah, try booting into safemode ... that will give you a clear indication of whats going on.
