Elementz Tier List

That list is only meant for players near the top of the ladder. For example Evelynn is like god mode at low levels. I wouldn't suggest following it unless you are in the top 1000 or somewhere along those lines. Even then some of the top players use characters like Cho'Gath and do very well with them.

New players should definitely not follow the list. Just try out characters that are interesting to you and you think are fun while you level up and learn the game.

Eve or Malzahar are only good if you face people who don't understand them. I would say beyond level 20 people realize wards = win vs eve and that it's easy to dodge malzahar. IMO it is important as a new player to not only play characters that are fun but to play ones that are not handicapped by the game itself later on in higher levels.

For example, if you play Evelyn only and learn how to use her most effectively, you will still be shutdown if you face someone good. However, if you are not competitive by nature and don't really care about such things than maybe the list is not for you. But, for anyone that is competitive, regardless of ELO, should at least understand th

A good player can beat a bad/new player using a "bad" hero. This is why you see Evelyns or Malzahars do good at lower levels.

A bad/new player is more likely to do good with a upper tier character. This is true as the upper tier characters have slight advantages.

Again, this is for new players who are competitive and those who get frustrated when they're losing alot or not having a good KDR.

Although this list may help, it's not necessarily too helpful in everyone's games due to the difference in game play of high tier and low tier players. For example, Nidalee is placed bottom of tier 4, but in the 1500s ranking, she is quite amazing; whereas, she might be tier 4 quality in the 1850+ rating.

Oh please, stop fooling yourself. You must have only played against bad Malzahars, stop blindly following tier lists meant for people in the top 100s because their style of game play is vastly different from everyone else.

You are level 23. You started building Starks Fervor on Shen, and built dps Garen. I am not nearly as low as you, I do fine as Malzahar.

Trust me, face anyone thats good and Malzahar won't be viable lol. Anything that Malzahar does can be done better by another champion.
Even in Mid Elo the only reason it may work is because for some reason players in that ranking don't bother to move..or whatever else.
If you face anyone that is GOOD and just working his way through that ELO I guarantee you that as Malzahar you are handicapping yourself.
Teams that have good players know how to counter champions such as Evelyn or Malzahar.

Uh, I was messing around with Starks on Shen.. I know the proper builds for any hero. I obviously was messing around, I'm not playing in ladders. League of Legends is similar to Dota and HoN, both games which I have played in leagues. So I don't see how that is relevant to what is being said here.

My argument is not that Malzahar is an awful hero. But, by picking him you're picking a hero that does basically nothing better than other heroes can.
Also, this list is not ment for only Top ELO Players. Top ELO players can play a lower tiered champion vs a lower ELO player using a high tier champion and destroy them if they chose to do so.

Tier lists assume equal player skills, which in the low and middle ELO do not necessarily hold true, hence the reason you see lower tier champions do better. That does mean that lower tiered champions are better than the higher. Higher tiered champions represent a stronger design overall. If you're not good with Xin Zhao and are good with Jax, you cannot expect to pick Xin Zhao and contribute more right away. However, once you learn how to use him, he becomes better than Jax.

I am by no means advocating that anything on that least is a fact outside of the heroes that are placed at the bottom. It is an opinion based tier list, however, you're wrong if you try to make an argument that Malzahar is a GOOD hero, and not a weak one in his current state.

"I find this very useful for players of any skill level. If you are new it can help you choose a good hero to start getting good with. "

The list is targeted towards competitive players (new or experienced) who are looking to weigh pros/cons of champions to pick for their team or that they want to learn before they join a team. That is the main purpose of a tier list. Maybe you did not understand what I was saying, I probably should have clarified this more.

Anyways, good discussion. If you have more to add feel free but, lets keep the talk relevant to the topic and not get too heated over such a little thing (including myself :)).

Alright, and have you ever faced anyone who is actually good? I mean really actually good and not good for below level 30? No? Have you even ever actually played Malzahar for more than one game? Do you even understand how he functions? Obviously you don't, or you wouldn't say such stupid things.

Malzahar is still one of the strongest single target nukers in the game, and you don't need people to stand still, you just need a good team composition with some hard crowd control, or you know, aiming your skillshot and a Rylai's Crystal Scepter. If you nuke the enemy carry down instantly, you have done your job as a mage, Malzahar can do that easily, then still do large amounts of damage to the rest of the enemy team with spells that scale greatly into late game.

The only other champion that can AoE silence is Cho'Gath, no one else can do AOE % damage. Malzahar's ultimate has one of the highest AP ratios in the game and does a ton of damage, along with a long disable. Often all you need to kill the carry is lay down your null zone, ult and sometimes ignite.

It is an opinion based tier list, however, you're wrong if you try to make an argument that Malzahar is a GOOD hero, and not a weak one in his current state.

No, I am not. Learn to play the game.

You aren't a competitive player if you aren't high in the ranked ladders. Don't follow a tier list if you aren't. If you are in low and middle ELO, you aren't, and as such the tier list in inapplicable. Play what you want, and what is fun, make sure you play a little bit of everything, it doesn't take 200 games to get to know a champion at an average to high skill level. The best players will know the basics of every champion and have played all of them.

Can everyone not get angry at people's choice of champs?

Malz isn't insanely good, but tier lists only matter in competitive draft mode.

P.S. Carmine, you don't have to defend Malzahar. If he doesn't think Malzahar is good, just own him with it and he'll wise up :3

I will back down, just trying to make a point that not everyone should follow a tier list, it has become basically a bible for all levels of play and people are looked down upon because of choices of champions that work well where they are.

Okay you clearly cannot understand what I am saying. For your information, constantly calling someone stupid is an awful way to prove a point.

If you nuke the enemy carry down instantly, you have done your job as a mage, Malzahar can do that easily

Right, a champion has easily dodge able abilities and a ult. that is countered by cleanse. I'm sure their carry will just stand in a spot where you can get him.

Malzahar doesn't provide any reliable CC options as compared to Anivia, Annie, Veigar or even Ryze. He has unreliable damage output and zero to none survivability are the reasons he is placed so low.

If you have fun playing him and do good, by all means by play him. But, to suggest that he is a better competitive choice than Anivia, Annie, or Veigar is a joke.
What's the point in taking Malzahar if you can get Anivia and have some serious crowd control, powerful AoE as well as single target damage? Or Veigar, who can stun entire enemy team and instagib squishy mage or carry right off the bat? Malzahar only has some AoE damage and then only if his team setup is good.

Malzahar is not useless. He is just not as good as others filling the same role.

You aren't a competitive player if you aren't high in the ranked ladders.

Do you understand the definition of competitive?
People in Low/Mid ELO can still be competitive, they may just lack skill, knowledge, dedication, etc. that prevents them from getting into the upper tier.
This is like saying a bad NFL team is not competitive because they are not top 10 in the standings. WRONG WRONG WRONG.

No one is angry at peoples choice of champions.
I have been consistently saying I DO NOT CARE what champion you play. For god sakes, play what is fun for you, it is a game after all.
But, to ignore the fact that some are merely better choices in competitive play is being ignorant.

Hahaha. Yeah okay, you haven't actually played Malzahar, you are just following someone else's opinion without forming your own, now I see, that is exactly the problem I have with tier lists.

Probably used the wrong word there, regardless, following a tier list while outside of high ELO ranked is just silly and pointless.

If you actually read the patch notes, you would know that they added suppression of summoner skills to his ultimate, meaning you cannot just cleanse out. This was also added for Warwick and Urgot's ultimates. This was added at the beginning of September. Just throwing that out there.

I'm sorry, that guide is invalid. They have not put Mundo in Tier 0.

LoL is based more about overall Team Comp and play, rather than saying champ A is better than champ B. The whole assumption that anyone can ever be at an 'equal' skill level with another person using a differet champ, especially that this happens by being in high elo is ridiculous.

Fixed.

Who wrote that guide? A genius? Clearly a genius.
Sadly, that rules out Aneruen. He does not recognise the Mundo that is Mundo.
