Champions Online F2P!?

You shouldn't be shocked. It's been an insane cashcow for Turbine, Inc since they put both Dungeons and Dragons Online and Lord of the Rings Online into the model.
Everquest 2's F2P model is freaking stupid so I don't know how much they're going to be getting out of it.
ActivisionBlizzard probably won't be doing it (though they do have a store for vanity items now) but I'm betting most P2P MMOs will have a ton more free content in the next handful of years.

This is just the trial run that will pave the way for STO to become F2P unless Cryptic screws that up too. Mark my words...
