Alright all you gamers, listen up! I have a problem with my startup time. My OS is all alone (save a few certain software, 227GB free of 271 GB) on a WDVelociraptor 300GB 10K RPM. This has recently started up. When my windows loading logo pops up, it takes quite sometime to load up the username screen. Even first loading my desktop takes some time.

There are some entries in my event viewer:

What do you guys think?

You're infected with a spyware.

Not necessarily, Bole.

matt, is your hard drive an IDE or a SATA hard drive?

I'm not sure how much computer know-how you have, so if you're not sure what an IDE Cable looks like, it's usually wide, but thin. There are about 10-20 smaller wires wrapped in plastic to make up the cable, making it look like a field that's been plowed by a farmer. It's normally colored Grey. Usually has a plastic cap with a ton of little pin holes on it for pins on your drive to connect to.

SATA cables aren't as wide, but they're also not as thin. Usually colored a pinkish red. Not really sure how to describe the part of a SATA wire the you plug into the motherboard/disk drive other than it looks sort of like a USB.

If you can tell us what type of hard drive you're using, we can see if that error report has to do with something on your motherboard or the drive itself, or if it's just a BIOS option you need to disable.

You gotta read my first post, anyhow its fine now. Deleting the .pf files in my prefetch folder solved the problem.

Do you have a CD in the optical drive? Take it off, when booting up

Did you attempt to overclock?

Need to learn to read previous posts so you don't keep posting a now solved problem. Locked!
