EGO TF2 vs. EGO DOD?

So a newbie question here. I see that there are two clans, one for TF2 and one for DOD. Is the Edge Gaming Organization over both clans or did EGO just start out as a DOD clan and the TF2 version is just an offshoot?

Or is it just two different clans focused on two different games that share the EGO name.

I guess what I am trying to say is, are both clans run completely separate or is their a higher organization (like a counsel or something) that oversees both clans?

It's an offshoot that is run by members who are both on the DODs and TF2 side. Though both have different council members. We are a brother/sister clan, a collaboration, a brotherhood. We share our name, ethics, constitution and fun mentality. Though there are varying differences,

for one DODs is a better game

DOD site is www.edgegamers.us

The two sides in fact share the same Ventrilo server. It's highly unified.
