ping issue

ok, while i'm playing DoD:S, or any game, I will hit a lag spike that shoots me into ping ranging from 300-900. i'm not downloading anything, nor do i have a browser window open. what should i do?

What browser window are you talking about? Make sure your in-game server finder is not searching for servers. Is this happening in DoD only?
