Ok, a long long long time ago when I was overclocking my Nvidia 6600 GT AGP I found a program that would run in a separate window so that I can watch it and watch my temp on cool bits at the same time. I lost that torture test for the video card and was wondering if anyone else knew of one. It's really important that it runs in a separate window so that it can be minmized. Thanks for the help guys.

i dont understand what you are saying. One time i had a programs and i also watched temp. seperate windows, ok wanna make it understandable?

If you have an nvidia card then just download ntune and it will tell you your temperature. They have a 'temperature monitor'.

Ok...nvidia monitor locks up my computer. This was a video card torture test. Unlike playing a game like DOD where you have to exit out of the game to see the temp, with this test you could watch it in a minmized separate window (this program would stress out my video card) and while at the same time monitor your temp in another window.

So you are asking for video card benchmarks then?

This is all very fishy man - you say you can minimize the program you used to use, so why dont you just minimize DOD. You dont have to exit, you can minimize it as well.

And before you tell me that you made a mistake and that what you really meant was that it runs in "windowed" mode, then all I'm goign to ask is why you dont just run DOD in windowed mode.

Sorry if you are upset. That wasn't my intention. How would I play DOD in "windowed" mode. Thanks in advance for your help.

Also, what I would like rather than DOD playing in windowed mode is 3dmark06 playing in windowed mode. Is that possible? If so, how. Thanks for your help.

well you can run DOD in windowed mode by going to your games list, right clicking dod and going to properties. Click on 'launch options' and then type "-window"

To get it back to normal afterward go back into the launch options and type "-fullscreen"

3DMark06 can be downlaoded for free from futuremark. I am not aware of it's ability to run in windowed mode or not but i bet you can search the options, and or the interwebs.

I'm not upset, I just want to understand your problem and was unable to because it wasnt making sence. If you wanted to run in windowed mode that is not called "minimizing" and thats hwy i couldnt understand.

Theres an easier way to run dod in a windowed mode.
go to options>video> theres a drop down with Fullscreen and choose windowed instead.
As for what you want, I think RivaTuner will work.

Yeah it worked. I got my 7900 GTO clocked to a GTX without flashing. Got the memory clocked to 800 MHz but couldn't get the core clock past the stocked 650 MHz. Running at 55C but would love to find a way to get 3dMark05 to run in window. Haven't tried Rivatuner yet.
