Benchmarking Thread!

Both of you have been added.

VP-77, what's going on with your drivers? Might want to check them out. We have the same GPU, but I have a different processor, and my score is over double of yours. What's up with that?

I honestly have no idea. I think I am gonna check it out, cause that honestly doesn't seem right to me at all when I compare mine to Dan's and to yours.

Edit: Alright, I got the right picture posted in my previous post. :)

Does Alt+Enter not work for this game? Alt+tab will.

It does, but most 16:9 monitors don't support 16:10 resolutions so it drops my monitor (Dell P2310H) out of range. I would assume if we ran a 16:9 resolution it would stretch to fit most 16:10 monitors as well.

err, all monitors above 1680x1050 can run in 1680x1050. o.O

No? Just go into the settings in the game, change it to 1680x1050 and turn on fullscreen. You don't have to do all this extra crap. o.o

Alright, sorry for being such a royal PITA -- it turns out the secret was to boot my rig up with only one monitor on so it's not in eyefinity mode, then specify the resolution manually like I had previously posted (for Mafia 2, in the config file). It then ran fine, at 1680x1050, in fullscreen mode. I am unable to alt+enter out without closing the benchmark results window, so I hope this is adequate (I took a steam screenshot, opened it up and took another one showing gpu-z/cpu-z. There is also a steam screenshot for validity.

No problem man. Added.

Phobus, could you update my score? I changed the image on my last post to how it was after I updated my drivers.

I couldn't seem to get it to run at the proper resolution, I hope this will suffice.

I had a 70fps average until the part with all of the flaming barrels, then both the CPU and GPU loads dropped along with the fps, any ideas on the cause?

Also: My CRT (secondary monitor) does support 1680x1050 but the playback is very choppy while it does report normal FPS, I could try this if you'd like tomorrow.

Sure. Next time you update your score, please make a new post so I can see it right away.

I'm sorry, but only the resolution specified in the OP will be accepted. I can make a poll (in a new thread) to make a resolution change, but I don't really want to go much lower than what it's already at.

Went down 7FPS, go figure.

My average is 76FPS without AA on

Can I request that you run the Tropic benchmark (which looks amazing) at 4x MSAA? I've got my GPU up to 900+mhz just for the occasion.

At least 4x MSAA. I plan on cranking it, just at 1680x1050. That goes for all benchmarks. We have nice hardware, why not push it?

For me it gets really choppy at 8x for some reason while still at 60ish fps. :thumbup1:

Yep, I think it has more to do with 1680x1050 straddling the two monitors. The choppiness seems to go away when it's full screen on the CRT.
