AMD 965BE / HD 5870
 
Wow... 16GB of memory??? There's got to be something more to this for you to achieve that sort of high performance.
 
I got more cooling today along with a NZXT cooling controller. (dual fan GPU cooler and two 120mm fans) I generally run 3.9ghz, but temps were surprisingly cool at 4.1ghz. I would more than likely do better with my 6 gigs of 2100 ram but I don't feel like swapping it out.

need more overclock. Too lazy to install drivers that work though....
 
I'm trying to figure out how he's running 16GB of memory @ 1600mhz on an AMD chipset. My system isn't stable for 8GB at 1600mhz.

I'm also trying to figure out how he's getting such a high score. I set my system to virtually the same settings he has (minus the 16GB of memory of course) and I can only produce about 210 FPS. What gives???

Because this bench scales very well with GPU and he hasn't shown off what that's OC'd to. Try bumping that up if you can.

I did. Ran my 5870 @ 960/1300, which is the best it can do without bumping the voltage. I was also able to run my system @ 4.1Ghz. The only thing I'm not matching here is the 1600mhz memory. I could do that, though. I just need to remove 4 gigs and I can push the speed and timings up.

Surely that wouldn't make a 15 FPS difference...

Guess what? The 1600mhz memory made a 10+ FPS difference. Imagine that... :O There was a small increase in framerate during the first part of the test, but during the 2nd part (I'm assuming the CPU part) the FPS jumped about 12 FPS. The memory made a HUGE difference.

This benchmark loves high speed memory. No doubt about it. If Kendle would use his 2100mhz DDR3 sticks, he'd blow me away for sure.

im very surprised at the 5850 crossfire scores and reflex with his 6870...........doesn't really make much sense lol
 
I got a new AM3 board.

I will be running the bench at hopefully 4.8-5GHz on my Athlon II tomorrow.

I can't get anything higher than 1600 8-8-8-24 to run the bench on my P67 board though. I think it is a BIOS issue. (ram is rated for 2000 8-8-8-24)

Slightly Off Topic: Wow this thread has been much more popular than I thought it would be. 10 weeks and running.
 
Quick addendum. Do we need to force a certain DX level? Remember, this game has settings for DX9, 10, and 11. Results are going to vary between each level.

Also, once you're done running this test, press alt-enter and the game will snap to windowed mode.
