hey guys, recently i (by mistake) downloaded a registry error detector and deleter. The problem im having with it is that when i want to play BC2, it increases my lagg and game play is like a snail :(. So i want to delete/uninstall it, but its saying that these registry errors (i have 5820 errors) can decrease the speed of my computer, but then i searched on the net and it said that sometimes the "errors" can be important and even COMPLETELY DESTROY YOUR COMPUTER... so im stuck... what to do :confused1: :confused1:

What OS are you running... if your running W7 sometimes it will do an auto restore point kind of thing... So you could just restore the computer to an earlier date before you did the whole download registry thing and hopefully be back to normal.

So you deleted those registry errors? If you did, you were supposed to make a backup of your registries before you deleted anything in case the registry editor you used screwed stuff up. Also what do you mean you downloaded a registry editor by mistake and what was its name, it could have actually been a virus that attacks registries that was pretending to be an editor

i havent deleted the registry errors yet coz i dont trust it, and i got it by downloading some type of file reader (i think), but it was always asking me at start up if i want to install and i always said no, until a few days ago when i clicked yes by mistake. Its called "registy helper" and here is even the link to the real download website- http://www.safeappsoftware.com/sa/default.asp?aid=22004&, should i delete them :confused1:

Im using windows vista.

For registry cleaning use Ccleaner or Reg Genie, otherwise delete that reg editor u got, and try to run a antivirus/malware scan if you have antivirus

THX for the help u two, i have deleted the reg and will run a scan tomorrow and i dont think vista has resore btw but its all good now. :))

PROBLEM SOLVED

WinME, Win XP, Vista, and 7 all have it.

Start > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore I think is the default place for it in the start menu on all of the versions of windows that have it. I could be wrong about this part though don't quote me on it.
