I cant run it on PC, but I play it on Xbox!

Played through the campaign twice already and loved it. Occasional fps lag aside. Once the lag gets fixed in multiplayer, I'll play more of that too.

I can never afford to buy brand new games, as a student and such, and so that's why I've been playing just Day of Defeat and then Day of Defeat Source for a lonnnng lonnnng time.

And I am happy with that. ^_^

Been playing a bit of the single player mode and have done some online and like it so far. It's hard to devote a lot of time to it though, as every game needs to get some loving :)

I played for around 1 hour 10 minutes of constant black with hourglass after instant startup.

So yeah, not so good. Need more cores!

Not really interested in it. After CoD2 things kind of went downhill in my opinion

Played the single player campaign twice now but only racked up 2 hours of gameplay multiplayer, but already level 16 so I can't complain. Game is AWESOME.

As I said on the call, we are aware of some users with high performance PCs crashing or reaching black screens when trying to launch Black Ops. At this point, we do not have a patch or troubleshooting steps to remedy the situation 100% of the time. What we are doing is compiling dxdiag files from these users and then examining the reports for similarities that will allow us to isolate the cause of the issue. Here are instructions on how to send a dxdiag file to us. 1) Click on the Start button > Run.2) In the box type: dxdiag3) Click the OK button.4) DirectX Diagnostic Tool will open, click the Save All Information button at the bottom.5) Save the dxdiag.txt file to your desktop.6) Proceed to http://support.activision.com and click the Activision logo in the center of the webpage7) Click ?My Stuff? 8) Click on the "Go to Account Assistance" button and follow the "Reset Your Password" option to have a password sent to you.9) Click questions, find your current incident, and click on it under the Subject column.10) Click Update Question.11) Under ?Attach Additional Documents to Question? you will see a Browse button. Click that and browse your computer for the Dxdiag on your desktop. When you locate the file, double click on it.12) Once the file appears as attached, you can now enter any additional information about your Incident in the ?Results and/or Additional Information? field.13) Click ?Submit Update to Question? to send the Dxdiag Since you are a gamer who seems to know his way around the PC, I would also suggest that you tinker with the display/performance settings of the game if you can. While we all want our computers to use as much of their power as possible, lessening these values could allow you to enter gameplay. Basically, you can tinker independently or just set the settings of your powerful PC as if it were your weaker one. I am interested to find out if this would allow you to get into gameplay. Also, try the following. It will most likely not get the title working, but it is worth a shot and you indicated your willingness to try anything. # Turn your sound acceleration down for Windows XP1) Click the Start button > Settings > Control Panel.2) Double-click the Sounds and Audio Devices icon.3) Click the Volume tab.4) Under Speaker settings, click the Advanced button.5) Click the Performance tab.6) Reduce the Hardware acceleration to Basic, the 2nd notch from the left.7) Click Apply and then OK 2 times. Run the game now. Don't forget to turn the acceleration back up to restore the high-end features if this does not remedy the situation and/or you need to use other applications that may utilize the acceleration. Thanks again for calling. Once I have your dxdiag, I will forward it to the team looking into this issue and you will be notified when more information is available. Customer (Entered by Jeremy Hibnick) - 11/11/2010 11:04 AMI cannot play the game. I have a very fast, powerful gaming PC. I get a black screen and the PC freezes. I cannot Alt+Tab or Ctrl+Alt+Delete out of the black screen, I need to shut down the computer. I purchase games all the time, including all the previous Call of Duty titles, and I have never experienced anything like this. I am running Windows XP. I have recently updated my DirectX, video card, BIOS, and sound card in lieu of purchasing Black Ops. I installed the system on another system, that is much less powerful, and the game runs but is very slow. (playing on 360)

10 minutes in matchmaking to find a game?

More time watching cut scenes than playing, literally fell asleep the story was so boring and dumb? MW2 was a vastly superior single player and story overall. *SPOILER ALERT* The whole SR-71 part? What was even the point of telling the guys to move 3 feet? It was an utter waste of time and possibly the dumbest thing I have ever done in any shooter.

Horrendous lag on every single match where I have to shoot someone 5 times to get a single registered hit, when they are standing in place and then my kill cam shows a single shot being fired?

Only redeeming quality was the splitscreen with 3 friends and having everything unlocked. However it sucks not being able to customize any of the game settings.

Overall?

3/10

I think Ill go back to MW2

If I get it I will be getting it around Christmas time. I'll be one of those old guys on xbox who plugs the headset in and then puts it next to me so I don't have to listen to the chatter.

Its good, but the engine is a bit old, could of used the engine of Crysis would of been so much better IMO, also The Multiplayer Server lag sucks, until they can get a update to fix that.

Total IMO, i give it a 6/10, and its a plus has a zombie survival mod = awesome lol..

Have it, love it. Just like most of the others that do have it.

In one server I told the players how to almost fix the lag completely, and I felt like a king for 30 minutes
