Extreme lag

Hello, I just bought and downloaded Call of Duty: Black Ops from Steam and I can't even play singleplayer without lag.. :facewall: I am getting under 20 fps playing singleplayer and I don't know why. :scared::O I have a EVGA 9800 GT video card, shouldn't that be enough to run this game? Any more specs needed just tell me. Thank you..

for me i had to make sure that i disabled sync every frame (vsync) and it ran great for me, my system is a amd 955 & gtx470
