What games/programs would you want to see benchmarked?
I'd like to have at least 6 apps, and I think Bad Company 2 and perhaps Left 4 Dead 2 will be on there. I need Vantage. >.>

E/ These are for GPU benchmarking, by the way.
I'd also like your opinions on what I should benchmark for CPU, as well. Cinebench will be on that list fo sho.

3DMark 06, 3DMark Vantage, Unigine Heaven, Aliens vs Predator, Bad Company 2, Metro 2033, Crysis Warhead, Modern Warfare 2 (maybe Black Ops instead?).

Metro 2033 needs to be on sale again.
I might be buying Black Ops soon.

Between my brother and I, we have most of those games expect what I mentioned above.

Thank you for the input. It's greatly appreciated.
Still open to more programs, though.

Crysis doesnt need a very good computer. However the graphics are freakin awesome i could run the game with a AMD Athlon X2 64 2.1 Ghz dual core and a Sapphire HD 4870 1GB DDR5. So i think BC2 or Black ops is a beter game to be/get benchmarked.

Try running it at max at 1920x1080. :)

Crysis running at all very high settings bows down to my "mid-end" card, heck if I crank the core to 900mhz I can even run 2x aa :P (At 1080p)

Ideally you should have a decent mix of past games and games showcasing new tech. I would say 2-3 popular games/benchmarks using oldish technology, lets say MW2, Crysis and Vantage. The rest should be new, like Metro 2033, heaven 2.1 and bad company 2. A mix like that would give us a good idea how well the card performs in all situations :)

Here's what I was thinking:

Vantage
Crysis
Bad Company 2
Unigine Heaven 2.1
Metro 2033
Black Ops
Left 4 Dead 2

l4d2 since it's still pretty popular. I just need time now, my poor internet. :P

Sounds good, L4D2 may be redundant, simply because its so easy to run (I get 60+ fps at 32x aa!), and cpu bound. But go for it! I look forward to the review.

yea theres like no point in benchmarking l4d

lmfao crysis is easy to run......ur joking right??? run that game at max and with that 4870 you'll be happy to get 30 FPS at 1680x1050. My tri-fire with crysis warhead maxed could get like 40 something at 1680x1050.

Run warhead, no need for the original.

Everything else looks good, Black Ops doesn't seem to be a big problem, its still directx 9 i believe and it honestly is a step down from modern warfare 2 in graphics but the gameplay is better IMO.

It's because it's popular. lol.
The review will be in a few days.

I might be buying Black Ops tomorrow. Getting new speakers most likely. :D

Also, what resolutions should I run benches at? I would like to do 2-3, and I was thinking

1280x1024
1680x1050
1920x1080

just 1080

i dont care about lower stuff

From a person with a not-so-amazing monitor's POV, they wouldn't care about 1080p benchmarks. Sure, they're nice to know, but if your monitor is only 1280x1024, then why are they important at all?

the typical ones review sites benchmark are 1280x1024, 1680x1050, and 1920x1080 so all the ones you mentioned are perfectly fine and theyre wat i would recommend.
