I am back from the non-internet world. I was scared.
I'm downloading Ubuntu right now, and was wondering, does anyone here (besides you, Passeryby) run a linux distro?

Also, I think I control the Tech Talk forum. I have a post in every recent thread.

I use to have Linux Mint...But I sometimes run Ubuntu on my CrapTop.

Propaganda still goes to Apple, though. They don't really tell you anything about the products in their commercials, just why you should have one.

Hey Passerby and/or Prisoner, what program would you recommend making a partition in? I went to partition it inside Ubuntu (while trying it), and it said it would delete all other partitions = risk of deleting my data = no beuno.
So I'd like a partitioning program that doesn't delete data to partition. Thank you.

If you have Windows Vista/7, you can use its built-in partitioner. I use it every time when I need to install Ubuntu. Right Click on My Computer > Manage > Disk Management .

Okay, so I've installed it, and then I went to restart to get out of test mode, and now I can't boot into it. I'm in Windows right now. Do I have to get a special program or something to dual boot? It just goes straight into Windows...

Do you have more than one hard drive? If so, go to the BIOS and try to set the primary boot drive to a different hard drive. Ubuntu installs its own bootloader called GRUB2. Sometimes it will get installed to a different hard drive when you don't specific its installation location.

Also, linux ATI drivers are FAR worse than their windows ones.

Because, I am sick of Windows. I hate Windows so much.
I don't think I need amazing drivers, because I know I won't be gaming in Linux. It'll be my everything but gaming OS.
