Steam Response Map Issue

When I play css All 4 cores are being used (2 real 2 virtual) Mac OSX uses grand central dispatch (mac program) to utilize the cores more efficiently.

They are not cores. They are logical CPU's created by the Operating System and BIOS.

Cores are physical dies on a physical CPU.

I thought that we were talking about gaming here, and how HT is useless for gaming?

because HT does nothing for gaming. At best, it increases minimum fps by <1fps (like .2fps), and sometimes even lowers the average (again, by <1fps).

HT is not completely useless for gaming!! It helps manage threads more efficiently this takes advantage if you're gaming AND doing something else in the background, even if the game uses low CPU, programs like Vent, antivirus, etc. takes a real advantage.:P
I know having four cores is better than having two fiscal and two virtual but this is not the case where you are advising someone which to buy. He needs to know how to make his Mac more game friendly. :)

How to make a Mac more game friendly =

1. Sell it
2. Buy PC
3. Enjoy DirectX
4. ???????
5. Profit

Seriously though, the Mac is very fancy but not much else compared to the PC, it may seem like an elegant robot compared to a spider of cables and complex mechanics but the PC is a lot more powerful even though it is the spider.
