Hey guys.
i am not really big on posting on forums and such. but just decided to see if there are any photographers on EdgeGamers maybe we can exchange ideas and what not.
ill post some of my photos here, so enjoy :laugh:

I take pictures once in a while with my dad's Nikon L110.

I'm not a professional photographer, but I do consider it a hobby of mine. Living in Florida, where the weather is both dynamic and volatile, there's plenty of stuff for me to capture on film.

That's so true. Matter of fact, I took a picture of the weather, looking at a stop sign that wasn't even 30 feet away and you couldn't really see it too well. Zooming in with the camera made it easier to see the sign, but if I hadn't zoomed in you would've seen so many plants you wouldn't know what the focus was.

I live in Vancouver(canada) and the weather is never stable here. right now we have -10 and its windy as hell. most of the time it rains so it really kills all the landscape beauty that is here.
but its all about the perfect timing, the "golden hour".

here is a landscape photo that i took just under a year ago.

btw. i still consider myself a semi-pro photographer, just cuz i sometimes get paid for doing doing wedding photos. but its still mostly a hobby

I see a lot of photoshop into that photo.

The color is on Kodachrome 100 and the BW is on Kodak 400, or could be 100. Film is still king.

I see a lot of photoshop into that photo.

Is that a problem?

I dabble myself, not in photoshop (too expensive for a student) I mean in photography, here check out my gallery if you're bored/interested?

One I'm quite fond of...lots of flowers and landscapes and a few animals in there

well its an HDR photo =)
and its not a bad thing. photoshop can make a photo better, it hides the "weak spots" in the image.

Yea, i am not a big fan of photoshop. It tends to make photos too clean, and photography is not about being clean and touching up things, unless you do it for advertising, and that is a step bellow photography as an art.

Here is another color slide. Does not scan so well. But this was a chance photograph, took it while driving through Palm Springs through a dirty window.

I always find that the random pictures you least expect to happen to be one of the better ones. This is one I took during a nasty thunderstorm, and I still consider myself to be a photography novice, so I was messing around with the ISO levels, aperture and shutter settings on my Nikon D60, and got this pic of a distant cloud to cloud lightning. I dunno why, but I like the grainy feel of the pic, and it almost makes the thunder look like an aurora.

well it depends frank, like if you want to sell photos to people, they go for the looks(most of them), so u gotta make a photo look as perfect as u cant. for example if its a landscape photo you wont get much attention if your horizon line is tilted. its a mistake, same as if part of the photo is over\under exposed. i use photoshop to edit photo, and present it to people the way i see it. in a perfect form with no weaknesses.
i mean yeah there are edgy styles, but its not mine, and i do appreciate a lot of those photo..

but in the end everyone is entitled to their personal opinion.

i read it a lil today in college. but its all based on religion-Zen, from my understanding?
