I'm pleased to announce that I've released the source code for Insurgency Beta 1 on SourceForge. Check out the project here.

This is not a playable version, this is the Source Code only. The playable (downloadable as a Steam Mod) version of Insurgency Classic will be made available once we've created an "auto-patching" system used to sync your game up to the latest version of INS Classic automatically before playing.

For those of you who want to see Insurgency on the Source Engine live on, I encourage you to tell any developers you may know about the project. Any donations we get through SourceForge we will use to pay the most significant contributors to the project (we can track its changes of course). Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 is recommended for this build. I'm eager to see what people do with this.

I like that its going open source...it'll keep the game alive along time.

Yes i must agree on that one, since this is open source i dont know why we, EGO help out in the development of it.

I know we in the past started to work on a new source game.. but that fell under due to commitments.

True that Drunken maybe we can find those guy's that wanted to work on that project and get them to start working on Ins. It would be so awesome and all eGO people would play it since we helped worked on the game lol! Come on cool people help!

if i knew anything regarding coding i would most def help. but alas, i do not =[ however it is nice to see that there is SOME sort of progress here and its not just dead in the water.
