Bluetooth?

Ok so here's the deal I don't know a whole lot about bluetooth but I know they make bluetooth headsets for computers and phones. With that in mind I have seen that you can get adapters for your computer to make bluetooth devices work with it. I was wondering if it would be possible to get something like this:

and have it work as my head set for playing games when combined with the adapter for my computer. It would be great with my blackberry pearl and i was thinking i could kill 2 birds with one stone here if my idea would work... Any thoughts on the subject?
 
but but but but but why would you want to?

Two problems - number 1, headphones liek the oens yuou have linked to are for cell phnes - but because they can tbe used for computer headphones, but because nobody would want to. Phone calls are usually like 20 minutes or less (lets pretend we are not high school girls who gab gab gab).

When you play video games most people tend ot play for an hour or more. Have you tried wearing these typs of headsets over a long period of time? ouch they hurt and are uncomfortable. Usually computer headsets are cushioned and arround ear headsets.


Number 2, so yeah its cool because you will be able to hear people shooting their guns arround you while you walk down the hall to take a bathroom break - then while you meonder to the kitchen for a drink or even to the mailbox to check for your latest commic book you will still be able to hear your music because bluetooth often tends to work up to 10m or is it 30m ?

anyways the point is, by the time you get back from the mailbox and are ready to play oh crap no sound - the batteries died. Bluetooth has the ebst range and also the crummiest battery life.

For these two reaosn i would not reccomend doing what you want, however it appears that you should be able to. Oh wait this just in, you also will be getting your sound from a usb device instead of from your sound card directly. This will take more processing power, lose a few frames and also have lower quality sound.
 
That is a really cool idea, I'm no expert but it looks like it should work. You should be ok as long as the computer thinks its a headset w/ mic and the computer adapter appears to do that. I've never had a bluetooth headset programmed to connect to two different devices at the same time so I'm not sure if that would be a problem or not, but you can always disable on the one your not using if it gives you a problem.
 
Key Points and Reasons...
1. I hate cords
2. I was gonna get a headset for my Pearl anyways
3. I wanted to get an adapter so i wouldn't have to plug my phone in to update my calender, to do list etc.
4. I don't like big headsets, the in ear buds and such that people complain about i don't mind so i don't think comfort will be a problem

So, lets see you hate cords, um so get a wireless headset. Diddnt say i hates them. They make IR, radio, and bluetooth.

You were going to get one anyways - fine do what you want in the end it is your money, I am just putting out there that cell phone headsets are not designed ot be comfortable over long ammounts of time.

You wanted to get an adapter - um, so your phone isnt smart enough to recieve updates viat the fact that it is a cell phone? Even my old $19 nokia could do that.

You dont like big headsets, that is unfortunate may i ask why? I dont see what in the ear headphones had to do with this at all, since i ddint bring them up, i was talking about the kind that clip to your ear such as sony headphones and the ones you have shown here.

According to the website - I will even giev you the best case 10H of battery life. So yeah um,... 10 hours is about 1 day's worth of listening to music while on your comuter / playing games. 2 Days if you are not an addict. So - do you enjoy changing your batteries every 2 days? Heck, I have to change the batteries on my mouse every 2 months and that's bugs the crap out of me. I cant imagine running out of power every day or so.

I'm sorry but point 7 is hilarious. "if i buy this now, then later one i could even use it with more stuff if i later buy more adapters and products" LOL how is that different than saying "if i buy this now, i can always buy somehting else later that was more like what i really wanted"



Ona side note wtf is with your hard drives? All 3 brands? Cant make upyour mind? No loyalty?
 
I'm a Seagate guy but money comes first when it comes to hd's. I got the 400 WD first bc i needed extra space for my laptop. When i built this pc I got the 320 Maxtor for close to nothing at Fry's. I got the Seagate recently from Newegg for free thanks to instant discount and rebate.
 
I'm going to have to disagree with you some more. Ram, processor, even motherboard I can see having money come first - but why let price decide what quality of hard drive you get - since, if your processor dies you can replace and have your data but if your HDD goes then your homework, project, thesis everything is lost forever.
