My MB died on my last setup and this is the replacement using some new and some old parts.

CM Storm Scout case
evga P55 le MB
i7 860
N520 cooler
8gb ddr3 xms3
evga 460 gtx
40gb Intel ssd
1tb seagate hdd
640gb wd hdd
X560 psu
Couple of 5.25"

Enters bios w/o error, still waiting on windows though.

Looks good! I just ordered a p55, i5750, 6gb of ripjaw and a new heatsink everything comes tomorrow!

How do you like your p55 btw?

P55 is great, just not when you start to use multiple GPU's especially if they eat up a lot of bandwith.

^ why didnt you wait for sandy bridge though?? It's coming out in like a month or two and is replacing the P55 MB's etc.....the successor to X58 will be 2nd half of 2011

Hmmmm, didn't realize I posted this in the help section, I guess that's what I get for posting from my phone.

Anyway, I like it so far but I won't really know until I get my hands on my new copy of windows. Tomorrow at the earliest, but Tuesday is most likely when I'll get it.

My mobo died and I make a living using my computer, I needed it working a week ago and certainly couldn't wait for sandy bridge.

reused hdds, opticals, gpu, psu, and cpu. everything else is new, i was actually about to start a new build to separate work from gaming when my mobo died, but that's not in the budget anymore.

I sold my 650i, e6750 and ram to my friend so I have been mombo/cpu/ram less for a few weeks, just wanted to do a small upgrade.

ye so ur only option was pretty much to get a mobo =/ at least price-wise etc...wouldn't make sense to wait for sandy bridge and upgrade mobo, cpu, etc...

well oneday, this will be ur old work build and you will get a new gaming build haha :thumbup:

Edit: @ M3dley.....ahhhh i see, okay well sandy bridge doesn't look super amazing anyway besides the fact that it has a GPU on the same chip that performs fairly amazing compared to the competition. It's mainly a plus for laptops though where a performance dedicated GPU isn't always an option

Yea overclocking has been totally changed once again.........they have some benchmarks out already but w/e we'll see when they come out soon

Why do you insist on everyone playing the waiting game? Not everyone can just wait 2 months for stuff to come out, and have no computer during that time period. Especially if your computer is making you money.

Sandy Bridge doesn't look amazing, you're right. It's not like the i5 2400 competes with the i7 (current stuff) or anything.

Overclocking has changed again, yes. The base clock has been lowered to 100, and is now in charge of everything on the motherboard. That includes USB ports, PCIe speeds, everything. Certain things do not take kindly to be raised higher than 100.
So, Intel is now releasing unlocked chips, similar to the i5 665k, and i7 875k. I'm definitely going to try and pick one of these up, as well as one of the new Gigabyte boards. Man, do they look sexy with the black PCBs. Mm.. :thumbup1:

Max multi is 57 (if rumors are true) Which limits you to 5.7GHz
