Nice find jordan! Imma bet that this last hat wasnt released because of one of these reasons.

A. Chest has jigglebone, and therefore, is harder to make

Completely different hat.

Man, if the mystery hat is just an open treasure chest, people are gonna have ragin time at valve XD
 
I want the 28 objectives hat but I can't bring myself to buy ruse, I'll aim for 2nd best I guess.

ill prolly go for the second best too. ruse is just too expensive to get for hats =/
 
There's new objectives, one is to have 10+ friends, which is really easy. Another, if I understand correctly, simply requires you to play a demo of a game called The UnderGarden. I'm downloading the demo now. The costly treasure for this group of objectives is an achievement in Fallout: New Vegas. The final one is a cheap game called AaAaAA!!! - A Reckless Disregard for Gravity, has anyone played it?

Also you can claim your hat now but there is no word on if it will upgrade if you get 15 objectives.

Oh, and you can get the objectives later, it's only the sale that is limited.

Well all of that is good to hear, are the hats tradeable though? Because for those of us that lack real money to buy games can buy hats with more hats!
 
Everyone should get at least the first hat as long as there's at least 3 more free objectives (which seems likely)

No they are not. I don't know if they can be gifted but that would defeat the not paying money.

I got the achievement for the game Chime (which I figured I'd drop $1.25 for). It turns out it's a really fun game, and the achievement was a nice bonus. They should put every game requiring an achievement on sale for 75% off. That would motivate me.
 
The first hat should be pretty easy to get

The second is within reach for those who want it.

But the 3rd hat?
