I kinda want to know whats the best too.
I know it's gotta have TRIM for better life and speed etc..
Intel is good, Crucial, Corsair, OCZ........i read kingston is a good bang for buck drive too.

I think the Crucial 300 is the best out there if im not mistaken, it has the fastest read speeds but you need SATA 6 gb/s to obtain this max i believe. It's write speeds are average but the read speeds are ridiculous compared to the competition.

C300 is good, based on the size. The 64GB is average SF-1200 performance, and 128GB is above, and 256GB just dominates.

C300 is a good drive for sure. I personally got the Sandforce based OCZ Vertex II 120GB drive.

That's what I would recommend to anyone that still only has SATA 3.0Gbps. If you have SATA 6.0Gbps, the C300 will be faster.
OCZ makes some amazing drives, and they're quick to replace them if you have a problem.
Either way, you're going to get a drive that starts your computer in about 15 seconds and shuts down in about 6 seconds if it's current. Lets see any Hard Drive configuration do that!

If you want the fastest and most reliable SSD you buy a single layer cell SSD. OCZ used to sell alot on Newegg, I think X25-E is only SLC available on newegg. They are very expensive, 600 for like the 60 GB OCZ ones back then.

They are slower than MLC. Much slower.
The only advantage that SLC has over MLC, is that you can write(and read i guess) it many more times than MLC.
Other than that, they are worthless.

You'd know if you had Sata 6. So you have Sata 3.

I got the c300 128gb with an asus us36 SATA 6.0gb/s addon card.
The card is only 25 bucks and it gives you USB 3. But you need a PCIE 4x or higher slot to run it from.
Highpoint sells a card in that price range as well, some think its better others don't. I have nothing but good things to say about the asus card and this SSD... hits 350+mb reads easily.
