Hey guys! I recently brought BC2 out of the woodwork again and I decided to start playing once more. It seems like I keep getting my rear handed to me every match for the most part and maybe it's just the rustiness of not having played for about 3+ months and squaring off against people who pretty much eat-breath-sleep this game, or maybe it's because i'm too used to TF2's mechanics and expecting the same results in BC2.

Having said this, is there any suggestions that you guys can throw out that would help improve my gaming, as far as surviving and accuracy goes? Would be much appreciated!

Hard question, DUCE!

Hop in vent with us some time and we'll give you the run down and answer questions as we play. That's truly the best thing we can do. Ask Bells, who just got the game. He's improving each time he plays. It's all about experiencing situations and learning from them. You really will grasp things as you experience them and have some experienced players giving you feedback.

That's honestly the most useful advice I can give you.

See you ingame and glad to hear you are getting back into it!

I would suggest checking this thread. It kinda isn't what your asking for but I think you will find some helpful stuff there. Tips on playing I honestly have none I been playing since beta and I'm still a noob even at level 30 lol! I think the biggest key to this game is pretty much Spray and prey. I haven't really found anything remotely tactical in playing this game except maybe hiding in a bush and not moving as a sniper besides that just shot as many bullet as you can I guess. I think stickign with as many team mates as possible is the only tactical thing I've notice in this game so I guess I can also suggest that.

You have to play the game knowing you will get killed.....sometimes ALOT. Get used to zooming and crouching when you see a baddy, trust me it will help. With time, the pace of the game will slow down and you will start to get more comfortable. Find a weapon/kit you like and play with that for a bit. It's a great game, you will be very happy. :)

I'm not sure what to tip you other than to hang in there! It's taken me a long time to get decent at this game. I used to die constantly and not accomplish anything, but now I do very good each time I play, and the only class I haven't maxed is my medic.

Hang in there! Time and experience will pull through for you!

I haven't really played BC2 since May pretty much, so I'm a good bit rusty. Mainly don't worry about your score, leads to less frustration. Play around with various weapons to try and find one you like.

Trying to remember it all, and see what's changed since I last played. That and I'm waiting on a new mouse, the one I have (didn't have it last time I play) isn't that fun to play FPS with it turns out.

Thanks everyone, for the input, I really appreciate it! My main problem so far is I see someone, I shoot at them, unload a whole clip on the guy, and don't kill him, but he turns around and in two hits I'm dead. But I'm slowly getting the hang of it. So far of the weapons I got unlocked for Assault (the main kit I play), I like the AN-94 the best. I dunno why but I like the burst fire compared to the full auto. I'm going to try what xosniper said, I hadn't though of immediately dropping to my knees. So maybe that'll work out!

A tip from me: Be ready to be killed...A LOT!

The first 4 to 5 days of playing are where you are "testing the water" in the game. You will be killed a lot and you will get frustrated. Just DO NOT RAGEQUIT! Just stay in the game and keep learning the basics. You will get better, just like in any other game.

LOL that's been my ultimate test. Though I seem to rage less playing Conquest than Rush. I die as much as I kill (for the most part), which is I guess an improvement. I've had some 'holy crap' moments, like going 3v1 and somehow miraculously not only killing them but living (no noobtubing either!).

don't follow me around..I'm a freakin bullet magnet. :cursing:

LOL I'll keep that in mind :P

I got a little frustrated playing as assault, so I decided to change it up a bit and went engineer, and had a blast! Quite literately a blast.

Man, I need some tips now too. I'm playing terrible now, lol.

Why are the cool games so hard to play :(

Ey sissy there is a curse around here, im doing horrible too so dont worry. We have good days and bad days.
And Duce join on vent with us and u will learn to play faster.

Always aim down the sight. Always. As for crouching, it does little for accuracy (stats taken from game code have proven it) and sometimes even lowers damage. I only crouch if someone is staring me in the face and I'm trying to hide.

AN-94 with RDS is extremely powerful, if you aim for the head. One burst to the head can kill, I believe. A lot of the more experienced guys think AN is overpowered, so yeah. Use it if you need it.

Medic is fun, and you can rack points up very quickly by dropping down medic boxes where the heavy fighting is going. Make sure you continually rez people with the paddles, but don't run out into the open to do it. Remember, LMG accuracy actually gets better if you use the gun on fully automatic.

Engineer is also good for games like conquest, as you can take out vehicles relatively easy, helping your whole team. Often times you can get double or triple kills by taking out tanks or the like. Burst fire for best accuracy/damage.

As for recon... I wouldn't, for points. High k/d is extremely easy to achieve if you just chill in a bush and wait for someone to pop up, but it can get boring and everyone will hate you for it.

As for all classes- I try to keep on the edge of the fighting, and pick off stragglers. Don't run into an enemy squad only by yourself, it will get ugly. Stick with your teammates, and help them kill the enemies. Remember, this game is based on teamwork, so if you help your teammates, they'll help you in return.

Hope this helps mate.

Thanks for the tips! I think I've found my stride playing as an engineer, since I mostly play conquest. I haven't had a triple kill yet, or at least I don't think I have, but I've scored plenty of double kills from tank kills. I usually tag along with a tank squad and just heal bot the hell out of the tank, and help pick off any pesky recons trying to C4 charge it.

Question, what's the difference between the Carl Gustav and the RPG? I noticed that the Gustav reloads a bit faster, but is a bit weaker, but just doing some demo tries on it, it took four rockets from both to kill a fully healed tank.

No problem mate. And the Carl Gustav has higher splash damage and radius, but less damage on the point of impact. So the RPG is your best bet for tanks, and Carl G for anti-personnel. I myself am a fan of the AT4 rocket launch... so much fun against helicopters :D

I just got the AT4, haven't tried it in combat yet, but was playing around with it a little bit before I logged for the night, and yeaaaah I think Imma have fun with it lol. And I also discovered how really different the game is if you are with a decent squad who communicates with one another. I was running around with a friend of mine who was a medic and we were just absolutely tearing it up.

Being in a squad that is working together makes all the difference in the world. You can turn the winning flow of the server from getting slaughtered to slaughtering them just by getting a few people to work with you and support each other.
Main tip other than that is to pick a class you really enjoy and stick with it till you unlock everything and master it. Then change to other classes once you're comfortable with all the other aspects of the game.
Oh, and don't spawn on me if you're in my squad because you're more than likely going to spawn into a stream of bullets according to my friends and I'll be the only one that makes it out alive. lol They don't know how I can run through some of the areas I do without getting killed, but if they try to follow me they always die.
