Chopper pilots!!!!

I learned how to fly from Slaz.

He taught me good. I'm not elite by any means, but I get a lot of compliments from pub players, and I normally do a good job of keeping a bird in the air for a good long while. I fly with keyboard and mouse. My favorite is the blackhawk, actually. Best way to practice is just to hop on with a friend or two on an empty server and go at it.

One thing I can't do is kamikaze crash well -- some people can nose right on to the objective perfectly. Me not so much.

I have the darnedest time kamikaze crashing as well. We should definitely practice soon. =]


xosniper, if you're down for it we'd be more than happy to work with you on flying.

I used my Thrustmaster Hotas X for quite a while and got pretty good with it. I didn't alter any settings from whatever defaults came loaded with BC2 and my flight stick itself was tuned for FlightSim X.

I found that using the Hotas X was almost more of a pain than it was worth, considering your chopper usually doesn't last for more than two minutes (sorry Uncle Sam) and then you have to laboriously transfer your hands back and forth. I now just use my keyboard and mouse when I fly attack choppers and just WASD and the arrow keys when I fly blackhawks (allows me far more response and quicker reactions). I bound the "Secondary Attack" -usually right mouse button- to the B key on my keyboard, allowing me to fire countermeasures while flying with the keyboard only.

I consider myself as a good pilot, unless those darn palm trees don't jump in front of me when I'm flying!

But only you gotta do is practice in a empty server for example while filling it up, and thats how you get better

ive been in some choppers that crashed without leaving the ground x.x better pilots would be a grand idea lol

It's getting easier. The stick is starting to bend to my will. I did hit a giant wind turbine on Heavymetal though. Was pretty funny when the other team starting laughing at me. lol.

I wish you could do flips in helicopters. .... doesn't make sense. Wish you could though ...

I've been roadkilled by a helicopter. I was really confused. After I died I was like, "Huh? How does a helicopter roadkill you?"

Flying is easy, TBH they dumbed it down for this game ALOT; because of the consoles....BF2 i loved to fly choppers and jets.

Really, in this all you need is the keyboard and mouse, the choppers in this were not meant to last all day, i can keep a chopper going for quite awhile until a dedicated enemy focuses on me. but yeah, i can help anyone looking to fly just let me know
