Hey Im new here but I thought I'd just post on the subject. As a new player I think I've done pretty well to be respectful to every single player which is something I've had to work on. On the other hand I've noticed some =(e)= members, new or not, slipping the rules through their fingers and although I will not list names, I think everyone needs to hold to these standards, otherwise why have them. Just thought I'd say my peace. :thumbup1:

Fixed, thanks! Skippy ain't perfect...considering he's 1.5 years old I'd say his command of the English language is pretty darn good as it is.

Back to the subject; language always comes down to what words are used and the context. Some words and phrases have no justifiable reason to be used in our server while some insults (even severe ones) can be fine as long as they are in jest with both the delivering and receiving parties.

i think with all of the language questions possible context and possible offense taken is the marker - if someone MIGHT be offended then it should not be allowed. eg - gay - just because most people don't find it offensive, the fact that some people might is enough reason to request no use of it.. ans while i agree that some people may be left scratching their heads thinking "but that is not bad language" at least we will be always trying to have the least amount of language that is offensive to anybody regardless of their sexual/religious/anything else beliefs.

As always it is often not how we see the situation but how another person may see it

Yeah i also agree Gavin, but.. As soon as someone warns them about a use of bad language like "gay" they starting arguing back and cause even more trouble.. I think it's just a sensitive subject on the servers! people are obviously out there to troll for the fun

I agree, I have also seen some new guys specifically that I have to remind what eGO is all about. If you ever have an issues there is almost always an eG or eGO online whether in-game, on steam, or in vent.
