I don't use Ventrillo (or any voice chat) is that bad?

I've never been a fan of voice chat in games. When I first started playing CSS years and years ago it was considered cheating in a lot of circles because you could 'ghost' for players while you were dead.

I stayed away from it even when I played MMO's. I know it's becoming the norm to use it, but it's just not my cup of tea.

So my question is will that hinder my ability to progress in the community and in the CSS division in particular?

Getting in Ventrilo will get you notice and more importantly, you'll make friends. I hated ventrilo when I joined eGO too, I didn't want to talk with anyone (lol). I just went in a couple times and talked to random people about whatever. It's not bad if you don't come into vent but you should.

I almost never use ventrilo. I think if you just uphold eGO standards, you'll be noticed regardless

No, What I am Suggesting is, That once everyone gets to know you in vent, the conversation you would be joining will stop and you will be the center of the new conversation....

People are extremely friendly on eGO and making friends can only help yourself and make playing in-game more fun.

You don't have to use vent only while in game, heck I hardley use vent while in game because of the loud voices. If you prefer, just get on while you are not in game so you can talk and stuff.

All I am saying is it could make your stay here more enjoyable...

agreed, when you need help, vent will get that help to you sooner rather than later. I think all members should have it installed and set up, even if they don't really use it. Though word on the street is that vent's quite amusing :drool:

I have no doubt there are good people there and good conversation, but it's just not something I like doing. Plus there are other ways we communicate, mainly in game or Stream.

Vent is not for everyone. just saying your missing out

Smart Troll is smart. Anyways, I use Vent and Mic alot, its alot faster and easier than typing. (Plus I can't type to save my life)

Getting in vent as power said gets your noticed. Also, ghosting is not allowed and if anyone does it, get and admin. If no admins are there or he ahs been previously warned, put it in the request ban section of the forums.
