Dear Lord WHY????

We'll see what the grossing numbers show, but something just tells me that catering to 100,000 kids who go see Yogi in 3D makes more sense than catering to 25,000 adults who go see Tron.

Just saying.

Tron $43,600,000

Yogi Bear $16,705,000

Yogi is getting terrible reviews, so it is a waste of 3D theater space imo.

I don't quite think it works that way, I'm going to head over to the next town to see it :p

Tron tells a better story for kids. It's about stopping an evil program from taking over, they can apply that to real life on a daily basis.

Yogi Bear is about a stoner bear wanting to eat all your picnic baskets.

You decide which one is better for kids.

i lol'd

I actually read a review that commented on this; they pointed out that in the original cartoons anything Yogi stole was returned or otherwise made up for and there was a moral lesson, whereas in the new movie the end includes him running away with a picnic table or something.

Kids robbing people because of Yogi Bear is even more ridiculous than kids killing people because of video games, but it's still interesting how they didn't include more positive elements in a kids' movie.

(Note that I actually haven't seen the movie or even the old cartoons, although I was familiar with the character; not sure how I missed out on that, as I've seen most of the Hanna-Barbera shows.)

Yogi Bear is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ----> better than Tron. I watch Yogi Bear 3D every day.
