Tf2 and counterstrike source ive noticed have gotten numerous face lifts updates and more attention then dod source. Does valve plan on doing anything besides the standard updates? im just curious and wonder if anyone has any insight on the subject. or is dod source just a the step child that valve doesnt pay much attention to. I mean its not like its a dead community...i would love to see new classes, skins, and even new maps. or is this just wishful thinking..Btw I hate you...

PS: the H is O..the Heat is On ;)

TF2 is making them a lot of money, CSS has the best name recognition of any game probably in the history of FPS (multiplayer). I think that the orangebox update we saw last summer will have been the last major update to hit DoD:S. I don't see the game getting any more content updates like weapons, attribute changes, or maps. It might be as old as CSS, but there are far fewer DoD:S players in the community than in theirs, and there is far more competition occurring in CSS than in DoD:S, as well.

Just imagine the new DoD:S with HL3.....

Mmmmmm.....

(Plus: Always wondered what "the H is O" meant)

Yeah DoD doesn't get as many updates...but if it ain't broke, don't fix it :P

Not liking the new smoke though! Someone said it looks like "thousands of bats circling in a cluster" that made me laugh! I wish there were more DoD updates, maybe if they updated it, it would bring steam more money.. common sense hey?

Steam has pretty much dropped the game. There isn't even an official DoD:s group about it. I just think they should add more content like new maps (user made) in the official game. That way more people will play new maps(those who don't know of the world of custom content!), because the current ones are getting redundant after 700h of gameplay.

Honestly I don't want anymore DOD:S Downgrades, they never seem to fix anything. It'd be nice if they just made a new DOD instead of updating an old game.

A new DoD would be amazing, but i really doubt they ever will! They are probably making a Team Fortress 3 though.. :P

Day of Defeat 2: Defeating days.

Bringing back all the old maps and guns, and adding "Nazi Zombies" Where you and three other players (Or Computers) Fight against hordes and hordes of vicious Nazi zombies. But dont fret about those evil nazi zombies nomming your brains kids, We've also added "The Fat Man" Class where you fly as the Enola Gay, bombing everything in sight from Flash to Kalt, from Donner to Avalanche, FROM PALMARO TO ANZIO!

Just think if a new DoD came out, and it had a single player campaign and the epic job Valve would do with it.

I do not see ANY major updates till the new source engine comes out... Even then we might not see an update...

Never thought about that. CS:S and TF2 have indeed received many in-game updates and add-ons.. While DoD:s hasn't received any at all really since it first came out. That would be great to see some, but I've honestly given up on any hopes of that..

Always helps to play the old DoD since it still has a decent amount of players. :D

If valve put some money into dod source revamped it and advertised it they could make some money..bring new people into the game and please the vets. But talking about is not going to do anything about it. For the people thinking a new dod will come out with the new half life..there probably wont be a new half life or wont be fore another 5 years.. gabe newell himself said "half like 1 took 2 years and half life 2 took 6 years so at that rate hl3 wont come out till 2016" not a exact quote but he pretty much said he would be a old man when it came out. Sad but true...but if a half life 3 doesnt come out im going ape sh** on valve..and if hl3 comes out and no new dod im going ape sh** on valve so valve better watch out. That is not a threat, its a promise..

only because there are more 12 year old gamers than adult gamers...shame on valve...preying on the minds of children by making them think CSS is a cool game...

I could not have stated it better.

I miss the old DoD... K43, bi-pod bar, carbine (regular weapon) brein gun, and the whole britsh line up to boot.

I think a medic class would add some variation to the game but I also agree that a new dod would be nice too but we've yet to see that happen with any steam game once it hits source that seems to be the limit.
