Btw: I can get the 5970 black edition for like $420 shipped and the warranty transfers over to me. Or i can get 2x5870's for $400 shipped no warranty.

They will perform the same, but the 5970 will hold value better, and be somewhat cooler.

And no, I am not on [H]
 
okay.......damn cuz someone on [H] is selling 5970 with accelero xtreme for $320 shipped but one of the DVI is broken. I only need 1 tho
 
there are 2 5970s on OCN

both are at $470, but if you offer $450 they might bite
 
Yea i talked one of them down to $420 shipped, its the black edition too.

But OMG the price on the [H] forum one is too good even if one of the DVI is broken. I want that one. I'll offer him $300 shipped and he'll probably bite since no one wants it.

Personally, I don't like buying anything that isn't 100% functional.

It's like a car, who knows whatelse could be wrong with it.

if AMD doesnt mess it up, yes it will be $700.

$420 is a pretty good deal for a 5970

Especially the BE
 
most 5970s do.

ATi designed them to run overclocked.

The only reason that they are at the clocks they are at is because they didnt want to exceed the PCIe limit of 300w
 
yea..........they only reach it with the voltage tweak though. Barely any run it stable on stock voltage =/

Oh's well, ima keep talking to this guys. 5970 black edition just looks plain sexy and hopefully if i get it, i can top it out at like 1050mhz core.

If they were able to reach 1GHz on stock volts, ATi would have sold them that way.

awww man i was too slow, stupid [H] forum member activation queue. The guy sold the 5970 with accelero xtreme moment before i got to send a PM to him.

He has a GTX 480 with the accelero xtreme though and i bargained it down to $300 shipped.

How does that sound? The cooler is amazing and should be more than sufficient in cooling this fermi beast.......you know what that means :P super overclocking with voltage tweaks :thumbup:

Since stock GTX 480's with voltage can reach like 890mhz core etc...i think it should be able to hit that and maybe even 900 with safe temps.

$300 sound pretty good for this card with the accelero xtreme?
