At a gunshow yesterday I got a Russian Mosin Nagant for only 100$. The guy who was selling them had 4 crates of them. They were the surplus after WWII. It was made in 1942, and you can tell it was made when the Russians were pumping out weapons as fast as they could because the medal on it is not that smooth and there is not as much engraving and it look like it was thrown together, and it is pretty worn.

Sorry about how big the picture is. I could not get it smaller.

Well, back then it wasn't exactly needed to make them high quality, they just needed a cheap, easy to make weapon that they could get to their military.

Nice find. These surplus crates have been showing up at gun shows and arms dealers across the US for years. They are great finds when you come across them. They are usually solid rifles. My father used one for years that he got before I was born. He used it to hunt with until finally trading it off for a 12ga shotty.

I myself had an old cz mouser replica from that time that i had for a long time and traded to my cousin. Is cool to hold it and research them and learn so much from that era. you are holding history in your hands.

Be Safe! Have fun!

There are millions of Nagants. My friend bought 5 for 120 bucks.

Awesome gun to shoot too!

I was supposed to go the gun show today and get a holster for my glock. Instead, I have to Christmas shop.

Yea my brother got one that was dated 1939 before Russia entered the war and it's engraving, medal, and mostly all around better quality.

im jealous would love to own rifles from the major powers in the war, garand, k98, lee enfield and of course mosin nagant.....although would like to a get a japanese rifle but my friends dad who owns one said they are unreliable and unsafe often booby trapped...to fire his he tied it to a fence and used a string to pull the trigger...

This gun looks cool, would love to shoot it! are you going to keep it as a collecters item or are you going to use it? :P

i really wish guns were legal in the UK, id probably have as many rifles as i have guitars (7 :P)

I will use it since the ammo is reasonable. I haven't shot it yet though it was to cold today:(

I'm sure the Russians weren't whining about the cold in the Siberian winters. :P

On the real though, cool rifle dude. I myself long to have a K98.. I'm sure if I put myself to it I could acquire one. Rifle laws in new york are semi lenient.. Compared to every single other weapon law in regards to fire arms... lol

Hey, they had no choice to be there, and I am sure that they hated being out there but whining would not have done them any good.
It does get pretty cold here in the middle of Kansas during the winter.

I said "on the real" after that, meaning I wasn't serious, or I was kidding. New york is quite cold as well. Heh.

So I was reading the things, cause I hadnt seen this post then someone goes "But I went Christmas Shopping." Its been 6th months Gordon. Cut this silliness out.
