[Tour Guide]

I am deciding to move to Texas but don't know where to move. I am think about Houston, Dallas, or Austin. Anyone with experience living in any of these cities let me know the good and bad about each of them.

I live in Dallas. Great place. But if you're looking for a college experience, or a more open city, Austin would be the place. What ever you do though, do NOT go to Houston.

It depends on your reason of WHY you're moving to Texas. Or did you wake up and decide, "Hmm, I'm bored. I wanna move. Texas is large, let's go there."

Either way, Dallas is a pretty nice place. Don't know much else besides San Antonio, as that's where a few of my friends live. They say it's nice.

I'm not from Texas, I just have friends from there. Just so you know.

Yes please let us know of ur reason for moving to Texas. I have lived in Texas most of my life (mostly between San Antonio & Dallas), so give us an idea of what your intentions are. Ive lived in Dallas for over 14 years & San Antonio for bout 8 years. I also do highly agree that you should not move to Houston unless you are very patient because that city has the worst traffic in the state. I would highly suggest Dallas tho as there is PLENTY to do there. I do miss alot of things up there (ive moved back down to San Antonio again to prepare myself for the military).

The reason I am moving to Texas is because my sister live there and wanted to move closer to her. Also, I am Vietnamese we like living in the heat and my parent's friends are all moving to Texas. It hard to look for a job in New Jersey and I heard Texas have a lot of jobs available. Taxes in Texas are cheaper than NJ. My parents get sick every time winter is here in New Jersey and they wanted to an area that is hot and humid. I like living in the humid air. It is easier for me to adjust.

Well based on your response, I would highly suggest the Dallas area. If you look at Monster, Yahoo Jobs, etc, you will find that they have alot of jobs available. but its best if you travel around in Dallas because you can find more jobs because most of the jobs arent posted online (as ive learned). Good news is that when it comes to winter, the worst part if winter is believe it or not in February. Its nice & cool up there in December, but its nothing compared to February. However, if you're looking for humidity, thats also another great place. That metroplex is known for their heat waves. I remember back in 2004, it broke multiple records for heat during the summer (thank goodness I stayed inside).

Anyways, thats my overall advice, based on the information you gave us. Good luck with your choice & your move.

One more thing, we have quite a # of eGO people in that area, so seek em out as quickly as possible.

If you aren't considering San Antonio then i'd go Plano, Texas. It's basically in the Dallas metropolitan area, and it is very pleasant

Financially, McKinney Texas, hands down. It's just a couple of miles outside of Dallas, and it was voted number 5 best place to live in the US.

It depends if you like living in a big city or rural areas. Personally, I couldn't stand living in a city, visiting is nice though.
