Battlefield 2 Error searching for help

Hello all,

I having this little issue and I keep recieving this error after I have been ingame for a few minutes.

My OS is Win7, 64bits
Now I have went to Website
http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=dl-bf2.php

PunkBuster (BF2) Security Files
The following files are only needed if your PunkBuster doesn't update by itself. Right click the appropriate link below and choose "save as" to your "pb" folder -make sure the file you save is saved with the filename shown below.

-----For Players Filename: pbsec.htm
--Note I save a copy in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\battlefield 2\pb
and I even save a copy of this htm also in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\battlefield 2\pb\htm

-- Still same error I get after 3 mins ingame.

Then I went as far to even download the

PunkBuster (BF2) Player Client Files

Players only need the files that correspond to their Operating System, Server Admins need all six files.

PB Client v2.241 for Win32 Filename: wc002241.htm

After I install I ran the update with the tool and it indicated Success.
-- recieved same error again ingame

Guys I have try everything I know what to do with game errors, if I am doing something wrong please let me know, or if there any fix to this error?
or should go ahead and write this game off?

If you need to reach me I usually in Vent all the time in BC2 rooms.

I was doing some research and noticed the error might be caused by having an older version of Xfire or FRAPS, a program on your computer that is out of date is causing Punkbuster to kick you, some hackers put codes embedded into Xfire and Fraps, but only older versions.

BTW, with this being a technical issue it may better be answers in the Forums>Tech Talk/Help channel of eGO http://www.edgegamers.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=379

Thanks, I do have xfire install on my PC , but i don't runi it while I ingame playing battlfield 2. I will unistall xfire and give it a shot I been also having issue with xfire and BC2
Also I am sorry about posting my issue here, figure BC 2 area was the best area start with you guys.

I have remove xfire and also it from Reg. completely. Here in little bit I need to take my friend to airport and also pick my wife up from work.
later on tonite I try again BF 2.
I am new to this eGO group and please bear with me its going take me awhile to learn you guys rule and regs, so please have patience.
I have alrready met few of BC2 members they seem cool seem like awesome group.

I had a similar problem with punkbuster a while back and after reinstalling it the problem was fixed. You might want to try that if nothing else works.
