Infrequent but annoying black screen.

I have recently noticed on BFBC2 that I sometimes get a completely black screen, HUD and all just vanish and go black for anywhere from a tent of a second to 10 or so seconds. my system specs are as follows and all drivers are up to date. and all pc temps stay relatively low MB, CPU, and GPU so I am sure it isn't a heat issue and so on with the specs:

Win7 x64
AMD 965BE OC to 4Ghz on all 4 cores
G-Force 275GTX OC
8 GB ddr3 OC to 1900mhz
4TB SATA Drives, 1 is 1TB and 2 are 1.5TB
37'' LCD HDTV connected via an HDMI cable and a 19''CRT connected via an HDMI cable, the smaller monitor holds my icons, computer temp and voltage monitors, and Vent. The gaming is all done on the bigger screen at 1826*1026 @60Hz
It is housed in a large tower with sufficient cooling.
Any Ideas?

Might be that, but you've been playing not too long ago and there hasn't been any sort of incredible new update for 200 series cards for quite a while.

If you have it on Steam, go to your games library, right click on Bad Company 2, go to properties, click the Local Files tab, and click Verify Integrity of Game Cache (or something along those lines).

Small chance that might resolve the issue. You might be forced to reinstall otherwise. A crash to desktop or black screen is usually driver-related, but that doesn't make sense unless you've changed something recently. Nevertheless, give it a try and if worse to worst, reinstall!

Just changed alot of the settings and will now play for a while and see what happens. Thanks for all of the input everyone. And druidsd that link is pretty helpful. I have read where sometimes the bloom resets to true after being set to false and to stop that from happening you can set the file to read only and it wont allow the game to change it ;-)

So far so good, no black screens yet, so tweaking the setting may have done it ;-) thanks again everyone.

What did you end up changing your settings too? I have a 200 series and I have the same problem once in a while. Normally I would just press tab or change the angle I was looking at to fix it.

Though you should note that some things like resolution will likely not be the same as mine though HSAO and BLOOM must be false. Also the game looks better with them as false. Also Fov = Field of View and you can play with it I have set mine as high as 360 but most ppl like it to be between 80 and 110. Hope The Helps
